well-run commercial property is like a Swiss watch: a complex mechanism with

We get to work faster because we don’t have to plan around the availability of third parties, and providing everything that quality roofing requires lets us pass a lot of savings on to our clients.
“W
e value one-on-one contact at Sela. No matter the scope of the job that we do, we involve our client every step of the way. Before we even pick up a hammer we present the client with a map showing where we’re going to be each day, what we’ll be doing, and where our staging areas are going to be set up. Our salesmen stay in touch with our clients throughout their projects, and email status updates every day. When you work with us you’ll have your project manager’s cell number as well as access to a 24 hour emergency hotline. As a general manager I’m personally apprised of all our ongoing commercial projects, and have field supervisors who report to me daily as well. The close connection to their projects that our clients enjoy is part of the reason why they come back to us for their future roofing needs 90 percent of the time.

f course, none of that is going to matter without quality materials and labor. We work with our industry’s leading manufacturers including Carlisle, Versico, Firestone, and GAF, and are able to advise the best materials for the job whenever we submit a proposal to our client. Even though our men are specialists with entire careers in roofing behind them, we have each of our manufacturers over to our facility every winter for hands-on training. It may be redundant, but we have to be absolutely certain that we’re right on the cusp of our industry. This standardizes the work that we do; Any Sela job is interchangeable with every other that we’ve done, and carried out exactly to the manufacturer’s specifications.

ecause we do our work to spec, every job we perform carries a manufacturer’s warranty. We’re with the manufacturer in joint for the first 24 months, but that doesn’t mean our client is on their own after that. If anything goes wrong -- and I mean anything -- we’d much rather correct the problem immediately and then deal with the manufacturer ourselves. It’s not just that we believe in accountability. We also just hate to have our work fall anywhere short of perfect. That’s why we have one of our foremen or service guys meet with the manufacturer’s representative onsite after every larger project we do. We’ve won some pretty prestigious honors in our industry by working that way, including Versico/Carlisle’s Gold Medal Award for quality installation and King’s Court Award for the number of installations we have done.
