Venezuela, China strengthen ties of friendship and strategic partnership Venezuela's President Nicolas Maduro and his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping held a high-level working meeting on Tuesday at the Great Hall of the People. With this meeting, the two leaders consider to strengthen the strategic alliance between Venezuela and China, based on mutual trust, understanding and the search for a more balanced and multipolar world, said a press release of the Venezuela's Ministry of Communication and Information (Minci). Maduro, during this year's second meeting with Chinese president, intends to consolidate the efforts of cooperation between the two nations, with the aim of making progress in the productive development of the country. Venezuelan president arrived Monday in the People's Republic of China, as part of his working tour of Asian countries. Upon arriving at Beijing International Airport, he was received by the Chinese
ambassador to Venezuela, Zhao Bentang and Zhao Rongxian, former Chinese diplomat in the country, who warmly welcomed him with a presidential salute.

Previously, President Maduro visited the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, where he agreed to a special agricultural development plan guided by three major engines for the production of meat, milk, rice, fish, etc.

Venezuelan President's visit to China, the third since he took office in 2013, coincides with the celebration of the 70th anniversary day of the victory of the Chinese people's war of resistance against Japanese aggression and the end of World War II.

Venezuela, Russia evaluate initiatives to stabilize oil market
Venezuela's President Nicolas Maduro said Thursday that he and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin evaluated a range of initiatives to promote the stability of oil price, following a meeting between the two leaders held in China.
"We must develop a new strategy for defending the oil market. The collapse in oil prices harms not only oil producers, but all investors in this field in the world, including in the United States," President Maduro added.
"President Putin and I have agreed on some initiatives that will be known when put in place, to achieve stability of the oil market," Venezuelan leader told RT.
The two leaders met after attending the parade commemorating the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese aggression and the Second World War, which was held in the capital of China, Beijing.
He said that both Russia and the OPEC countries agreed that global economy needs to have a solid oil prices. "Stable prices may be best for the world economy and at present, prices at least above $ 70 a barrel are the best for ensuring energy investment in the next 50 years," he said.

For the right to education: Students begin school year with backpacks, free books and new schools nationwide The Minister for Education Hector Rodriguez said on Tuesday that the pupils enrolled in public schools will receive school backpacks for the start of the 2015-2016 school year. This adds to the 30 million books of the Bicentennial Collection to be delivered free of charge to children and young people in primary and secondary schools and the 200 new schools that will be opened across the country, Rodriguez said in Caracas. "More than five million households with children in the public, free and quality education system in Venezuela and the President of the Republic, Nicolas Maduro, has decided to give each pupil a school backpack with notebooks and books, " he said. The School Bag will contain pencils, notebooks, erasers, rule sets, Canaima computers and Bicentennial Collection books. He confirmed that despite the drop in oil prices, the attack on the national currency and the economic war that the right maintains against the country, the Bolivarian Government will maintain its investment to strengthen public, free and quality education for all Venezuelan children. The total enrollment in primary and secondary is 5,845,984 children and youth. 3,473,886 in primary school and 2,372,098 high school. Caracas, 01 Sep. AVN

Promoting Venezuelan film industry: "Dauna, what the River carries" will represent Venezuela at the Oscars 2016
The feature film "Dauna, what the River carries" directed by Mario Crespo, was selected as the representative of Venezuela to qualify to become a candidate for Best Foreign Language Film at the 88th Oscars to be held in February 2016. The decision was taken unanimously by the ten members of the National Association of Cinematographic Authors (ANAC, Spanish initials), who, according to the official record, stated that the decision was taken "by the universality of its theme, its cinematic value, the poetic presence of nature and the depth look at the Warao culture." Dauna, what the river carries tells the story of an indigenous woman who, driven by her curiosity to know what there is after the Orinoco delta, goes on a search for her academic and social growth, even if that means facing some standards of her culture. The film had its world premiere on the 65th Berlin International Film Festival and explains the need to understand multiculturalism. Next year's Academy Awards is scheduled for 28th February, 2016.
