President Maduro: Today sanity, dialogue and peace prevailed between our countries
The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, said that the meeting held in Quito with President of Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos, took place in a climate of openness, respect and brotherhood. He said so during a press conference that was held at the Carondelet Palace in the Republic of Ecuador, chaired by the host Rafael Correa, and the President of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, Tabaré Vásquez. "We had this extraordinary opportunity of frankness, sincerity, the truth of everyone, we lay the groundwork for a resumption of relations as they should be, based on cooperation, respect and common confrontation of the problems we have between the two Republics. It has been a very frank, very clear, meeting amidst an atmosphere undoubtedly of brotherhood; this is how I feel and how I think. Who won today? Sense triumphed, dialogue and what should always win; peace, peace between our countries." The Venezuelan leader thanked his counterparts from Ecuador, Rafael Correa; of Uruguay, Tabare Vazquez, CELAC and UNASUR, for having achieved with authenticity and transparency concretizing the meeting. "Today when we got here it was not easy, we envisioned a complex, difficult meeting, it has not been without its complexities and difficulties for the delicate and sensitive issues, but we have shown that with political will we can do it". President Maduro stressed that there is no room for hatred, for intolerance or for revenge; "The only place there is for is dialogue, for brotherhood and to overcome the problems we have, and only with the cooperation of both governments and both countries we will overcome". He said that Venezuela and Colombia have developed a schedule to attend to all the problems facing both nations. "With the support of Ecuador, of Uruguay, we can to clear up all matters that need to be cleared, to benefit whom? For our people at the borders and beyond the borders. I also think that it is for the benefit of the entire South American region, it has to be a region of dialogue, peace, brotherhood and coexistence." (MPPRE) September 21, 2015 .
