Venezuela's President Nicolas Maduro and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov agreed to hold talks on Saturday in Caracas, in the city of New York, the Russian Foreign Ministry's office said in a statement. The communique explained that during the meeting, to be also attended by the Venezuelan Foreign Minister Delcy Rodriguez, different bilateral issues will be addressed. The new location of the meeting, the statement said, was agreed on mutual manner between the president and the head of the Russian diplomacy. The appointment is made in the frames of the participation of Venezuela's President Nicolas Maduro, on the High Level Summit of the UN General Assembly, which
began its 70th session at its headquarters in New York city. Russia and Venezuela currently have agreements in the areas of the oil industry, commercial agriculture, industrialization, housing, culture and education, driven by the good relations established by the leader of the Bolivarian Revolution, Hugo Chavez, whose strategic direction and policy is followed by the government of President Nicolas Maduro. A Venezuelan delegation composed of Vice President for Economic Area, Rodolfo Marco Torres, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Delcy Rodriguez and Minister for Oil and Mining and president of oil company PDVSA, Eulogio Del Pino traveled to Trinidad and Tobago to expand the strategic and cooperative partnership with this Caribbean nation. Marco Torres, also Minister of Finance, said in his Twitter account that this visit will be an opportunity to review bilateral strategic agenda. He also announced that representatives from both countries will spend their time sharing ideas in working groups to evaluate strategies for common development. For her part, Chancellor Delcy Rodriguez said that during the meeting with Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Keith Christopher Rowley, who took office on September 9, they discussed the scope of “joint energy projects, bilateral and regional relationship.” “We visited Trinidad and Tobago’s new Prime Minister Keith Rowley. We brought the greetings of President Maduro and the Venezuelan people. We are pleased to be the first foreign visit Rowley receives. We reaffirm the ties of friendship between the two fraternal peoples” said the Minister of Foreign Affairs, through @DrodriguezVen.
In this regard, a comprehensive energy partnership was agreed for the joint development of gas fields, which are located in the maritime border between the two countries. Both countries also agreed to establish new formulas of balanced trade, consisting of new mechanisms to exchange energy production capacities of both countries. “We have advanced in the commission of permanent consultation at the highest level to discuss all the issues of cooperation with a new rhythm of work … A new form of fair or compensated trade … A very active trade,” said the Venezuelan president at that time, during a press conference in Port of Spain. Maduro appointed Foreign Minister Delcy Rodriguez to oversee the agreements on air and sea transport, as well as the expansion of the tourist routes between Venezuela and the Caribbean island. During his visit to the Caribbean nation, the head of state also stressed the oil and gas potential, and food production and minerals of both nations to achieve a sustainable and integral development. The Documentary “The Silence of the Flies” The Venezuelan documentary The Silence of the Flies won a new recognition in its trajectory. This time the artistic quality of the film and enriching approach to the mental health issue conquered the public in Scotland. The ninth edition of the Scottish Festival of Arts and Mental Health 2015 recognized the efforts of the film to explore openly and without taboos mental problems and experiences of various characters. Written and directed by the researcher of the Venezuelan Institute of Scientific Research (IVIC, Spanish initials), Eliezer Arias, The Silence of the flies exposed the issue of suicide in adolescents and young people from rural areas of the Venezuelan Andes. With this award the ribbon cutting and sensory ethnography has obtained 15 international awards and participated in 61 film festivals in over 26 countries. With support from the National Autonomous Cinematography Center (CNAC, Spanish initials) and the film distributor Blancica the Silence of the Flies was released in Venezuela on the 11th September in the Trasnocho Cultural Theater, located in Caracas. The music of the film is of the renowned pianist and composer Leo Blanco; while the photography was the work of Gerard Uzcategui from Merida, work that was recognized in the V International Documentary Festival (Doker) in Moscow, Russia, winning the award for Best Cinematography in 2015.
