SZABOLCS VERESS GRAPHIC DESIGN PORTFOLIO
Logo Student Sport Competition Cluj is a university city in Romania and is famous for its Anual Student Olympics. A new team, consisting of 32 enthusiastic youngsters was formed and they were in need of a brand and an image which would be recognisable. That is how the name WeSithek got born (which is a wordplay - it can mean both “We, the Siths”, but read correctly, can also mean “we’re losing” - a reference to the team’s mentality, which stated that the most important part is not winning, but having fun). The team’s mascot was also created, Lord Veder (which in English would translate to Lord Bucket).
Logo Competition for Bucharest City Council Bucharest, the Capital of Romania, is in rapid development since the country joined the EU, and it is becoming increasingly modern. The City Council desided to change the brand of the city to reflect the new image of the capital itself. The logo I designed for the competition is an abstract reinterpretation of Bucharest, which tries to capture its dynamic, multifaceted nature. The concentric triangles also refer to it being the center of political, cultural and economic life in Romania.
Poster PhD event PhD Students at University of Exeter realised that many of their colleagues are studying and writing their thesis in fields which intersect with one another. They tried to encourage talking about their work at a weekly event to facilitate collaboration and networking.
Beer bottle label Rebranding Kázmér Brewery is a small hand-craft beer workshop which has been making its highquality products for a couple of years. They wanted to reinvigorate their image, which was quite classical and did not represent their mentality anymore. They wanted something more unconventional, but maintaining their mascot, Kázmér, the rooster. The name “Hopszika” is a wordplay which can be translated to “Oopsie!”, but is also referring to the beer’s strong, hoppy flavor. The town where the beer is brewed is in a mountainous area with many Carpathian Bears living in the forests.

A friend was writing a study on the Romanian Creative Industries regarding its perception among young people. She asked me to help presenting her findings in a way which would be worthy to the field she studied.
