Dear Bob, Lin and Nels: Re:

Watershed Stewardship Collaboration Opportunities

Lesley and I were very pleased to have the opportunity to make a presentation to the Conservation Sudbury-NDCA General Board. We left feeling supported, and had a great sense of hope for the future of the Vermilion River. Further to your letter dated 24 February 2012, we would like to thank each of you for your careful consideration of our questions and concerns, and your commitment to collaborate with our Stewardship to resolve our water quality issues. We are very pleased that Lin is taking the lead on this initiative, and look forward to working with each of you to protect our watershed. I will pass your generous offer on to Neeltje Van-Roon so her team can contact Lin and discuss how you can best contribute to the Walden Watershed Wellness Conference that is being held in April. I know your participation would be an excellent opportunity for the Conference, and for Conservation Sudbury-NDCA to create new partnerships and raise awareness of our need to collaborate on protecting our water resources. The GSWA AGM is scheduled for 19 March 2012, and once the new Board is installed we will discuss your offer of collaboration with the Vermilion River Stewardship (VRS) and the Greater

Sudbury Watershed Alliance, and arrange a meeting to discuss our issues and explore our options. The idea of a consortium of local water groups is an excellent one, and I believe there would be a great deal of interest and participation in such an event. VRS is happy to work with you to arrange this event. Again, thank you for your generous and forward thinking offer to collaborate with VRS. We look forward to meeting with all of you in the near future to further discuss how we can best move forward as caretakers of our natural environment. Sincerely,
