2020 Annual Dues
Our Ashburton Area Neighborhood Association works for changes and improvement, such as neighborhood safety, beautification, networking, business and social activities. The Association’s means of financial sustainability is through membership dues. Your membership dues help to cover expenses for events and activities related to the betterment of our Ashburton Community, e.g., Neighborhood Block Party, 100-YEAR CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION, Newsletter Print and Distribution, Holiday Party, and much more.
On Tuesday June 2, 2020 Maryland will hold its Presidential Primary Election. Due to coronavirus concerns, it will be conducted by mail-in ballot, with several in-person voting locations available for those who are unable to vote by mail. Please go to https://boe.baltimorecity.gov/boe-resources for detailed information on these locations. Your ballot should have been received by Saturday May 23, 2020. I encourage everyone to immediately return your MAIL-IN ballot, which must be postmarked on or before Tuesday June 2, 2020. Ashburton will be holding a “Pull Up To The Post Office Ballot Event” on Saturday May 30, 2020. Look for details in your Ashburton Association Email, on Nextdoor and on the Ashburton Facebook Page. CENSUS 2020 is here! Our country counts its population every 10 years. By now, everyone has received the Census 2020 form. It takes approximately 10 minutes to complete! Why is this important? The Census determines how many congressional seats our district and state will have, state legislative districts, federal funding for our community, schools, hospital and much more. In other words, the Census results will determine how more than $675 billion in federal funding is distributed to states and communities. Many thanks to those who have completed and returned their Census forms. To others, I ask that you do so promptly, by mail, phone or online. LET’S GET ALL WE CAN FOR OUR COMMUNITY AND STATE! Stand Up and Be Counted!
Annual Dues for Ashburton Residents are: $20.00 a year

We are thrilled that this year, 2020, marks the 100th YEAR of our ASHBURTON community, which is cause for celebration! To commemorate this milestone occasion, the Ashburton Centennial Committee, co-chaired by Alfred Nkere and Tosha Deal, has worked tirelessly to create some exciting Centennial Events and Activities. However, in an abundance of caution, the uncertainty of the coronavirus outbreak, and in compliance with our Governor’s and CDC’s directives and guidelines regarding social gatherings, social distancing and shelter-in-place, the Centennial Committee has postponed the events until further notice. For the safety of our loved ones, ourselves and others, it’s important that we all adhere to those directives. (For further details about the centennial events, see page 2)
