I enjoy spending time with friends and family, drinking coffee, and listening to music. Currently, I am a senior interior design student at Anderson University in South Carolina. My goal is to obtain an entry position as an emerging professional. I look forward to utilizing my skills learned in class and my summer internship. I am capable of working in a full-time design position. I favor commercial design, especially working in the education and business typologies. I am capable both of hand and computer drafting. This portfolio includes process drawings, finish and furniture selections, details and construction drawings, research, and branding. I am proficient in the following computer programs: Autodesk 2017-2018: AutoCAD, AutoCAD Architecture, Revit; 2016 Google Sketch-Up, Adobe Creative Suite 2016: InDesign, Photoshop CS6, Acrobat; Microsoft Office 2016: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher; Conceptual Design; Hand Drafting and Rendering; and 2020 Design Software: CAP, Worksheet, and Visual Impressions.

Design Philosophy

I believe, as an aspiring designer, that all interiors should include functionality, comfort, safety, sustainable aspects, universal attributes, and be aesthetically-pleasing. My goals as a future designer are to develop creative solutions and personal flare that enable me to produce uniquely beautiful spaces that will benefit the clients’ well-being. Personal flare, for my design work, often includes intricate details within the sixth plane, bold color statements, and integration of solids and patterns. Ultimately, I want to incorporate the wants and needs of clientele, pay attention to detail, and adhere to all codes and regulations. Thank you,

Veronica Lewis Veronica Lewis

Proposed Sculpture Elevation

{Design Statement} A proposed sculpture was commissioned by Greenville, South Carolina to embody anything that

represented the city historically. This project was geared toward the Cherokee Indians that owned the land first. The overall sculpture represents a modern version of a totem pole. The colors represent the natives’ bold hues; the windmill portion at the top helps to promote energy-efficiency and in context of remembrance of the old mills; the lights inside illuminate the sculpture at night; the retaining wall and benches help to create a personal sitting area within the park area; and the city’s logo helps to help unify cultures together. Ultimately, this project became a symbolic remembrance to the native land of Greenville, for everyone to enjoy.

ARCHITECT PICTURE FRAME Junior Level

62

Mid-Century Room Perspective

{Design Statement} A picture frame was designed based on a research of an architect or interior designer. With this project, the picture frame was inspired by the works of Archie Quincy Jones. The picture frame incorporated his use of primarily wood, steel, and glass. Jones liked the idea of uniquely shaped windows and was considered a mid-century modernist. Ultimately, the picture frame was created to be double sided, utilizing the architect’s ideal materials and ideas, and make it so that it could be displayed anywhere, whether in the office or home.

Model: For the actual modeling process of this picture frame, the materials that were used are as the following: foam-core, paint, glass, plastic, and hot glue. The picture frame serves dual-purpose in both vertical and horizontal compositions. The size of the inserted picture in either direction would be 4 by 6 inches. There is a 1 inch wide slot on the small side that allows the pictures to be switched out with ease.
