The 6th year graduation project consists of two parts:

1. the masterplan proposal for the city of Tver (a team project); 2. further elaboration of one of the key sites (indivitual work).

The proposed Institute campus is placed into the natural landscape of the riverside. Two main principles embedded in this project are environmental intelligence and versatile learning experience.

PART 1. MASTER PLAN PROPOSAL Urban redevelopment proposal is a team project made by the students of the 6th year design studio: I. Zhukov, A. Malchevskaya, E. Soldatova, M. Stepanova, A. Sharapova; I. Saraikina, R. Isakova, T. Melnikova, V. Volkova. The original concept implies: continuous green areas along the river - recreational and forest park zones replacing private cottage housing from the town center setting new dominants at the intersections of arterial roads new highways reconnect separate districts - new bridge connects two shores redevelopment of industrial clusters within the city

ADAPTIVE REUSE THE BANK TOWER

project title: Social Re-Formation of Wells Fargo building, Phoenix, AZ project type: academic course: 1st year graduate studio school: Arizona State University, The Design School professors: prof. Kaisey Josephs date: fall 2016 time available: 3 months

The task was to propose a new envelope for the Wells Fargo tower in Phoenix that would answer the conteporary environmental requirements and social conditions. Nowadays, the only reason for a bank to occupy a tower in the center of a city is forming a strong community inside a company. Therefore, the social performance of a bank tower is its capital asset. The proposal creates a vertical sequence of public spaces within a building and also reflects on the evolution of corporative structure in America, enforcing its demanded shift from elitism to egalitarianism in financial institutions.

The tower has several functional sections that are diffusing through the public spaces.

Organizational structure is applied to floor plans of each section.

The circulation zones for each section were arranged vertically into a public core with community hubs.

Public activity is expanding the skin outwards. The “bubbled“ spaces are used for visual and physical vertical spatial connections.

•

The geometry of the facade module is based on the grid which changes according to the function and climactic conditions on each facade.

The initial task was to propose a small-scale architectural intervention that would solve local development problems in the neighborhood with a complex urban environment. Novogireevo district of Moscow was largely wasted during the post-soviet years of chaotic development. The area of the central square is packed with massive retail buildings, enormous parking lots and temporary kiosks. Despite the active land use, there is a lack of public facilities. The proposed Community Center is a place for meetings. It contains rooms for leisure activities, a coworking area and a meeting hall that could be used for public discussions, presentations or music events.

Plan development

The Community Center is located near the central square of Novogireevo district. It connects the public area of the central square with the currently isolated pond. The proposed building takes the place of the existing temporary structure currently occupied with a clothing shop.

The plan is based on the straight path that connects the road with the pond. I have divided the structure into 3 separate volumes in order to lessen the scale of it. The area of each volume vary depending on its function.

The axis of the middle volume rotates, thus creating the better view on the pond and the surrounding green area from the interior.

The project of the Community Center places humans in its focus. The place-receiving experience of a user is driven by the relationships between a human body and the building. The sequence of diverse spaces provides an exciting experience both within and beside the building.

The triangular form of the building reduces the snow load, heat losses and usage of materials. At the same time, its graphic silhouette enriches the image of the neighborhood.

All 60 karaoke rooms were designed using “tatami” measuring system. A tatami is a type of mat used as a flooring material in a traditional Japanese homes. The typical room size is 2,7x2,7. The rooms are separated by soundproof partitions which can be removed to unite several rooms.

As an intern in the Chinese firm MAD I have parrticipated in the development of the China Philharmonic Hall in Beijing. Being a part of a large team, I worked on architectural design, plan adjustments, scripting (Grasshopper), presentations and visualizations. project title: Guest House Near Town of Smolensk, Russia project type: professional company: AABA architects position: architect project team: Y. â&#x20AC;&#x153;I want a fairytale!â&#x20AC;&#x153; Said the client. And that is what he got.

The Bent House was designed as a selfcontained mono-space that represents the personality of the client. It is a guest accommodation and a lounge space, working as an extension of the main house situated nearby. The form of the house embodies its organic reaction to the context. The client got the site with the pre-built concrete stylobate. We made this reconstruction from the previously dull shape, bending and twisting it in response to its surroundings.

In a Russian forest a tree grew up.

It stood high and proud until a man hewed it down to build a home for his family.

As a house, the tree sprouted a new life.

The proposed landscape connects the footprings of the existing buildings, with the Bent House placed in the center. The â&#x20AC;&#x153;trunkâ&#x20AC;? of the house ramifies towards the key elements of the landscape.
