« The journey is discovery, it is life. It’s like going to a big library to look for a book » (Renzo Piano)

Architecture means traveling, learning about cultures and exploring nature. I like to look at the world through the lens of the camera and rework ideas through a pencil.

+ SITE ANALYSES

The linear park is located near the historic walls of the village and it develops in part on existing roads that looks towards the Marche’s hills and Sibillini Mountains. On the other side, the route enters the historic village and than passes through in the dense bush with a naturalistic path up

+ DESIGN

The linear park has a total length of about 2.280 m, different widths ranging from 8 meters of the Panoramica, up to 1,50 m of the nature trail to the north. It is characterized by the presence of pedestrian and cycle-pedestrian paths with a series of points along the route, dedicated to rest, relaxation, leisure and sports.

+ SKILLS

In the preliminary phase I took care of creating the graphic drawings for the representation of the project, relating not only to the archi tects and engineers but also to the agronomist and the geologist. In the executive phase I was able to study and look for technical solutions, dialogue with material suppliers and design ecological solutions with a minimum environmental impact in the best possible way.

Chamanculo C is one of the many informal districts of Maputo, with a population of over 28.000 inhabitants and an area of just over one square kilometer. The informal nature of the settlement, combined with the high population density and the poverty of the inhabitants, causes a series of problems, ranging from land insecure posses sion, absence of water and sewerage network, frequent occurrence of epidemics and lack of security, especially for women.

+ DESIGN

The project aims to improve social, environmental and quality of life conditions by proposing urban acupuncture interventions, to improve accessibility, safety and access to primary services. Through a strategic plan for the whole district, interventions have been devised in the individual housing units that require participatory processes of the whole community. The study of technologies has pushed us towards bioclimatic design, passive strategies starting from African vernacular architecture.

+ SKILLS

The complexity of this work was the extremely problematic context of the slum, the scarce economic and raw material availability. The study led to intervene both at the urban level and by finding a strategy for the individual housing units. In this research project I had the opportunity to experiment with lowtech technologies such as that of stabilized raw earth, thinking everything from a self-construction perspective and with low costs.

Section- The houses are rebuilt on the same footprint but are developed on two floors, thus increasing the drainage

Section - The “becos” will be made safer, with permeable walls and lighting Section -In the main and secondary roads, the construction of a draining pavement, the insertion of sidewalks and above all of drainage channels

Ground floor - Typological house for two families developed around a common standard space space having services First floor - The private space of each family consists of a large room where all daily activities take place

View - Developing the houses on two levels allows not only to improve the management of the internal space of each lot and increase the living area, but also to create common areas to serve the community of the “block”.

Climate section - The bioclimatic design and the study of passive strategies, in particular those related to natural cooling, to mitigate the high temperatures typical of the tropical climate, has allowed us to insert strategies such as solar chimney, natural ventilation, solar control and insulation. thermal.

Graphs - Parametric analysis for the optimization from an energy and lighting point of view, varying shapes, materials of openings, shielding and studying the insulation through different materials and thicknesses

+ SITE ANALYSES

The project area is the “praça Almirante Júlio de Noronha”, in the end of Copacabana’s beach promenade, next to one of the most iconic mountains of Rio de Janeiro, Ponta Do leme. This area has a dynamic environment, because of street markets, street trades, the big pedestrians flows and specially, because of it being a place for capoeira musicians and dancers to meet, and practice their art.

+ DESIGN

The function of this pavilion is to create an open space for street performances, where dancers and musicians can have shadow and a fresh space. The inspiration came from the flora and fauna of this tropical country, especially in the native bird known as the “papagayo’s”, making an emphasis on its wings.

+ SKILLS

In this course I learned the Design Optioneering methodology throu gh computational design using parametric software: geometric si mulation with Grasshopper, environmental simulation with ladybug, form-finding simulation with Kangaroo, structural simulation with Karamba.

The parametric design allowed me to discover nature as a pattern or architecture and at the same time giving way to optimize the drawings according to the context and the environment.

The project area of Bracco headquarters is located east of Milan, in the Lambrate district. The area was a former industrial area betwe en the city center and the Lombard countryside and is now at the center of important regeneration interventions.

+ DESIGN

Bracco is a pharmaceutical-chemical multinational that wants to have an iconic headquarters visible from the Milan ring roads. The project aims to mend the area through greenery, in continuity with the network of parks in Milan and the nearby Lambro Park. Green is the fundamental element of the work spaces that are in continuity with the park, proposing a new way of seeing the office, that is, as a meeting space and open to the public. Offices are seen as open, flexible and inspiring spaces. The park is connected to Milan through the cycle path that develops over several levels, creating different places for socializing and opening up to different views. Also industrial buildings are recovered to host the design events for which Lambrate district is very famous.

+ SKILLS

In this course I learned how to use collage as a form of creative expression and design, then learning to concretize ideas into something functional and sustainable. In this project I was able to reflect on different contrasts such as ex ternal-internal, public-private, open-closed, natural-industrial space, deepening the importance of the relationship between these.

Masterplan - The design aims to enhance the Lambro river with a waterfront with irregular steps and connect to a more apio design of cycle paths. The road is shielded with vegetation, creating a quiet place characterized by a mirror of artificial water

Concept - The workspace blends with the nature of the park, opening up to the entire city. The office also becomes a place for fun, meeting and culture

Ground floor - In the plan there is an auditorium, its relative bar and the canteen. The light and green penetrate through irregular holes

Schematic design - During the summer, active strategies for air treatment and adjustable vertical shields for radiation control were used

Views - The existing industrial buildings are recovered and used as a library and exhibition space

Schematic design - During the winter, heat losses are lowered through an insulation system and ventilated facade and by designing green roofs. The heating is powered by geothermal probes and the electricity by solar panels

The construction place of a new secondary school is located on the outskirts of Casatenovo, a municipality in Lombardy. The area is located near another secondary and primary School in a residential neighborhood.

+ DESIGN

The call for proposals included a school with eighteen classrooms, twenty-eight students each, seven laboratories, a library, an archive, an auditorium, a gym, a canteen and a kitchen. We wanted a building that was permeable and walkable from ground to roof. The school is built around a green courtyard and while on the ground floor there are the kitchen, canteen, auditorium, offices and labo ratories, on the upper floor there are all the classrooms. These are distributed throughout the perimeter, interspersed with empty common spaces overlooking the courtyard, which can be used by children during a snack as spaces for socializing. The green roof is an open-air laboratory, with gardens and tables for outdoor lessons.

+ SKILLS

In the design of the school we have also developed fire prevention plans, the sizing of all systems and the design of appropriate construction technologies. This project is highly inclusive, totally accessible.ce, deepening the importance of the relationship between these.
