Dirty laundry I Your situation did not happen in a vacuum. As we listen to each other’s stories we realize we were not alone. Our foundations were flawed in similar ways.
Dirty laundry II Must be acknowledged; hung out to dry. Not left to mildew in a dark closet Secrets must be spoken to break their hold.
Dirty laundry III Next we must lift the wreckage and stumble towards the light. There is much comfort knowing we are not alone, and that things can change.
Not an excuse I Our refuge - whatever its form may have worked for a while. Enabled us to soothe the pain, disguise the scars, deny the reality pretend we were ok.
Not an excuse II But then we became things we swore never...
Not an excuse III One cold morning the problem dawns as ours. No one else is going to fix it.
Take a deep breath. Let go of the drama. Turn the page.
Breaking the chain I A source of profound joy; climbing out of the rut. Choosing not to buy insanity by the bushel. Finding yourself a new family.
Breaking the chain II Forgiveness - only as much as you can today, born of understanding, eliminates the blame deflates the excuse provides a new foundation.
Breaking the chain III Recovery is the best amends. Recovery is the best healing. Recovery is the best way to get on with your life and leave the past behind. And it proves them wrong!
