Veterans
housing Veterans, armed with the strength and support of the community.
Veterans Community Project was founded by a group of combat Veterans who were frustrated by the rampant homelessness and barriers to support faced by their fellow Veterans.
Our solution: offer Veterans transitional housing and comprehensive wraparound services that address the root causes of their homelessness. Regardless of their time served, discharge status, or service type, our goal is to restore their dignity and provide them with the support they deserve.
When I stepped into that house and had my own things after being homeless for four or five years … it was almost too good to be true. I got my pride back, which was a big thing for me.

Since 2022, VCP has screened over 350 Veterans for suicide risk
VCP is a proud recipient and provider of the Staff Sergeant Parker Gordon Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program (SSG Fox SPGP). This program allows us to collaborate with the VA to connect eligible Veterans and their families to essential support services including transportation, emergency financial assistance, housing assistance, and mental health support. Many Veterans previously ineligible due to their length of service or discharge status can now access these critical resources.
Our Case Managers work closely with Suicide Prevention Coordinators from the VA to ensure swift enrollment in mental health services or to find alternative treatment options based on eligibility and the severity of suicide risk. Veterans at risk of suicide who served in the active military, naval, or air service and were discharged under conditions other than dishonorable, as well as former service members with other than honorable discharge status, are eligible for the program. If you — or an immediate family member — are experiencing issues leading to suicidal thoughts or actions, please reach out to us at VCP.org for help.
56% of at-risk Veterans had never received suicide prevention services before engaging with VCP
