As you all know, this year marks the VFC's 75th anniversary in flying operations and flight training! Now that we're finally moving back toward normal with increased vaccination rates and the future is looking good, it's time to celebrate responsibly! Social events like this are a fantastic way to remember the "club" part of the Victoria Flying Club that we've sorely missed this past year.
If you have any family members or friends who you've been trying to aviation, the open house is a great way to introduce newcomers into our shared passion! Bring them to the by for a free 20-minute discovery flight with our instructors! They'll also be able to meet our team, tour cool civilian and military aircraft, and more. It's also a great way to spend time with kids and get out of the house on a Saturday afternoon with the family.
If you have or know teens who might be interested in aviation, they can get career guidance from School District 61. The University of Victoria will also be on site with information about their Diploma in Business Administration for Aviation.
The open house is also scheduled to have the following guests and representatives

Door prizes include an hour of flight time with one of our of flight instructors for the general public as well as a free 1.5 hour use of one of our recreational aircraft for members.
There will be a BBQ on site that will serve food and drinks for a modest price from 11:30 pm to 1:30 pm. You'll also be able to enjoy yourself in comfort knowing that Provincial vaccine safety procedures will be followed throughout the event.
The open house will run rain or shine, so come and spend the day with us. We're all looking forward to seeing you there!
