Are you interested in becoming an Electrical Technician? Maybe with a focus on Energy Technology? This program is designed to prepare you for employment as an Electrical Technician with emphasis on installation, power distribution, controls, programmable controls, mechanical systems and the maintenance of industrial machinery. This program also prepares graduates to sit for the North American Board of Certified Energy Practioners (NABCEP) Entry Level Solar Certification.

Program Length 2 years (5 semesters) Career Opportunities Electricians, Electrical/ Electronic Technicians, Power Systems Technicians, Solar Power Technicians.

Tuition & Fees At only $162.11 per credit hour, you’ll

save $10K to $22K, in tuition costs alone, by starting at VHCC! Out-of-state students living within a 30-mile radius qualify for in-state tuition.

With 20+ years of experience as well as an Associate’s Degree in Electrical Technology and Siemens Certifications in Mechatronics instruction, Donnie Melvin is well versed in commercial and industrial maintenance and brings extensive practical, real-world experience to the classroom.
