Solar Energy Technology Certificate

Think you may be interested in working in the alternative energy field? This program is designed to prepare you for employment as a technician to install solar power generation systems with emphasis on installation, power distribution, controls, programmable controls, mechanical systems and the maintenance of industrial machinery. The program will also help you prepare to sit for the NABCEP Entry Level Solar Certification.

Program Length 1 year (3 semesters) Career Opportunities Entry level solar power generation systems technicians and installers.

Tuition & Fees At only $162.11 per credit hour, you’ll

save $10K to $40K, in tuition costs alone, by starting at VHCC! Out-of-state students living within a 30-mile radius qualify for in-state tuition.

With 20+ years of experience as well as an Associate’s Degree in Electrical Technology and Siemens Certifications in Mechatronics instruction, Donnie Melvin is well versed in commercial and industrial maintenance and brings extensive practical, real-world experience to the classroom.
