Dear friends! Elton John’s music has often been described as the “soundtrack of our lives.” And that it is. Very few artists have remained at the very top of their creative game for five decades — Barbra, Cher and Julie (Andrews) to name a few. But what sets Elton apart is the fact that not only did he perform the “soundtrack of our lives,” he composed it! Sir Elton’s first album came out in 1969. Now 45 years later, he and his incredible lyricist Bernie Taupin are still going strong! Tonight we need more from you, our audience, than we normally do. Of course we hope for the usual things – thunderous applause, assorted bravos and bravas, standing ovations – you know the drill! But this experience is different. We want you to feel completely free to sing along, clap along, maybe even get up out of your chairs and dance along! Tonight is for you to experience Elton John with all of the rights thereunto appertaining – wild and crazy, soulful and beautiful! It’s a party! Most of all, get ready for a walk down memory lane — the proverbial yellow brick road — with us as your guides. We are ready and hope you are, too!

Dr. Timothy Seelig PS. Make your plans now to join us for Season 38, starting with the 10th anniversary of Crescendo on October 11!

yellow brick road

In March, a longtime friend and fan of the Chorus offered SFGMC a gift of $10,000 - along with a challenge that we raise money to match it. We reached out to you, our supporters, to help meet that challenge. Thanks to the generosity of the following, SFGMC more than matched our friend’s visionary gift. In fact, we were able to match it 2:1. We would like to thank Joe Czuberki, our friend and fan, for his kindness and unfailing support of our mission. Without his generous gift to jumpstart this campaign, we would have never reached this unprecedented $30,000. As Sir Elton sang, our “future lies beyond the Yellow Brick Road.” Together, you have helped us pave the future for SFGMC. Thank you for your belief in us.

Innovating Care for Dementia

The Ray Dolby Brain Health Center at CPMC

Innovators inspire innovation. And now, the unique model for care of dementia offered by CPMC’s Brain Health Center is named for a local pioneer with international impact: physicist/engineer Ray Dolby, founder of Dolby Laboratories. Since it opened in 2012, the Brain Health Center, in collaboration with the Alzheimer’s Association, has treated more than 2,000 patients while helping their families find the best possible sources of information and support. By making the largest gift in CPMC’s history, the Dolby family has ensured this innovative service will be available far into the future. That’s the Power of Caring.
