VIBHUTI PATHARE

Role of architecture & authorship

I believe that a building truly goes beyond its facade and appeal, and architecture becomes a progressive learning experience. With the thinking mind and hand, Design asks architect to empathise with climate, sustainability, heritage, and people.

Having worked in internationally acclaimed practises, helped me on developing radical ap proaches in revealing the complexities of inter twined territories stories and engaging them by developing intuitive design approaches

My portfolio epitomises an evolving design manifesto : striving for spaces of appreciation, dynamics of interaction and relatable psychologies.

Curating a sequence of sensory transitions. The design aims to build spaces for recovery as an emotional expression in a turbulent environment of war in the Jabaliya camp located in Gaza. It seeks to curate the lost childhood by adapting to the war spaces into a theatre and a playground that reforms the acts of

healing and rescuing environments as a socially conscious space. A theatre of Phantasmagoria serving as a collective facility to express, communicate and sheltered spaces as refuge for the safer encounters during a war, Community kitchen that involves domesticity as the child grows, atelier for rebuilding and customizing materials (after war)

It aims to understand specific weaknesses and potentials of a child growing in a turbulent war environment. It also awakens a posbbility og creating war spaces into artspaces, dark dungeons to playgrounds of refuge.

4. The key drivers of this projects become the level of comfort and choices of interactions. The concept is perceived beyond the physical, political nature of the space where the events of phantasmagoria are the details of explorations.

5. Experiential Sequence

+ Upon the point of entrance, the space is marked by the aisle of openness which follows ruin of musical encounter where the kids can express their staged fears wrapped by the warmth of rammed earth.

+ The drape flows in the direction of the creation space where the children strive to participate in the play. The space becomes a new archival for the future.

+ The walls are now seeming like elements of climbing, storing, celebrating, and seeking refuge followed by an adaptive roof which are climbing nets inviting the gradient of porosity and access to light.

INSERT for commune living is a statement acting as a departure from the current medium density dwelling typolo gies that takes into account the future densification of Melbourne’s middle ring while preserving the qualities of the suburb and nature.Communal facilities such as the kitchen, dining, and BBQ area fosters a tight knit mini-community while allowing economic savings for the lower-income resi dents, complemented with a local fruit and vegetable produc tion on the roof.

Another feature would be the flexible garage, which can either be used as a full on garage, or a hybrid of garage-communal workshop-small coffee shop, or in the future can be opened up fully to open up a small business for the local community.

Studio Leader : Dr. Djordje Stojanovic, d.s@unimelb.edu.au Production

The design is intended to look into the notion of harvesting creativity in response to daily fatigue. The Productive Insert forms a gradient of spaces that shift from normative to interchangeable landscapes. With the 30 percent of the ground contributed to secluded private yards, flexible work shop spaces and central spine carrying diverse func tions such as communal dining spaces and bbq areas.

Roof is designed to inhabit a dense ecosystem of communal exchanges such as farming yards, nectoral plants, vegetable gardens.A sequence of deciduous and evergreen plantations defines the bio spines. The design integrates the archetypes as cano pies and interactive spaces for work, rest and play for Suburban living.

The design utilises several ESD strategies to ensure high environmen tal performance. Among them, the courtyards act as ventilation access and a lightwell for units. The roof garden deep soil en sures good insulation and thermal heat sink, while the screening acts as a double skin for sun shad ing and weather protec tion. We have opted for traditional construction methods of concrete and

steel, as we deemed it is much more cost effective for contractors compared to additional expenses to study and procure new materials and methods. Here seeing the building on the site. White brick veneer and White timber panels allow the building to sit well into the sur rounding landscape while also rejecting heat.

Through a series of form subtractions, terraces,

verandahs, backyards, and private courtyards are formed from the maxi mum probable project extent allowed within RESCODE regulations. Communal roof gardens act as a replacement for the greenery the build ing sits on. A second skin wraps the building acting as a privacy screen, weath er protection, and sun shading system.

Weaving landscapes- Architecture of Metaphors Individual Work

Federation Square department + LAB Architecture Structural ConsultationStudio Leader : Isabel Lasala isabel.lasalahernandez@unimelb.edu.au

The Russel Street is beginning and end of two entities. One of the best ideas of opening those ends of the city. However it lacks connectivity not only in physical sense but also social. The focus of the proposal is addressing the neglected respons es /edges of new urban developments near Federation Square and ignorance of the environment that they are set in. The contextual prototype for rapidly urbanizing cities breaking the capsulated enclosures. So, this project has two parts _ Development of the master plan and the edges. The project questions the way in which we design the urban spaces, in the updating and renovation of these, where obsolete public policies are exposed by noting the little inte gration in the environment and the little complicity with the community.

The new proposal includes creating aqua culture, libertian spaces to expression, river theatres and bridges while still acting as metaphors to the existing heritage.

Material resilience

Residuals on the site shed light onto the whole life span of material. In stead of ways of seeing weathering as a linear substractive Process, the projects sees the nature as a cyclical process.

Another theme that the proposal reveals is the versatility that public places must have. These spaces must integrate into their design that per meable capacity that brings them closer to neigh boring programs .The stair acts as a spatial device to blur the distinction between inside and out side, providing views from the inside toward the garden and bringing natural light into the living space. The landscape is interpretated metaphor of facades conveying sense of departure and surreal journey through the woods.

Making Progress Towards Product I have observed the numerous forms that are feasible through various little models, my goal is to find final form that incorporates the various advantages of 3D printing (multi mate rial, designed to fit the component without further work, etc.) Final Model as Model The goal is for the 3D print to function as the final thing, but as a first stage, the print can serve as model for the final form

The Project ‘650 Lonsdale’ is mixed used commercial tower with a hotel on he top level of the building. The building has an interesting mix of two facades for win ter and summer sun. This subject focussed on the in tersection between learning to built skyscraper within the building codes and area calculations, materiality and construction detailing, with theoutcome being the pro duction of a full set of working drawings. This CORE technological

subject also allowed for the engagement and implemen tation of alternative performance-based design choices, explored through conceptual studies and detailed draw ings during the semester.

Deconstruction of a theatre into an art space at performative level.

The Project Turns to the spectacle to activating not only the site contained to the interiors but also experiencing a new urban scale infrastruc ture. Located directly near to the Metro station ,Andheri.

In todays time, the commercialization of art in the form of huge banners/ hug posters stick on the walls is percieved as architectural narcissim. Instead, this design promotes wide gesture cen tered for interchnange of scales urbanisticaly and programmatically.

What

if the library creates a new microclimate in the city?

Library Design at Navi Mumbai :: Studio in B.Arch.

Focusing on Motion , both physically and mentally engaging with the schools around, The formal drivers of library begins with shifting ,layering and branching as a critic of the unthoughtful design behind the facil ities , acknowledge architectures influence over the Surroundings.

This project responds to a design preceding external forces that aid synthesis between these Constraints and ambitions. To pursue the idea

That an object can become an imposter to itself through hierarchy , formal activators and implications of space.
