Editor’s Note . othing is impossible in life. N Everything may seem impossible until you try it. It never crossed my mind of being an editor of a magazine but the mystery of life is the heart of creativity. It was always a hobby to jump from my reality and fantasize that if I be an editor what content would be in it. With the intense growth and adoration of being an editor, many creative ideas started rolling and spinning in my head seeing the gap of vast content that many magazines did not put into their work.
3
I then asked myself, the five important questions in business life, What, How, Which, When and Who. These questions molded my thoughts and within a short space of time, then boom! Vicious Collections Magazine was born.

What is an Independent Woman www.viciouscollections.co.zw
5
VICIOUS COLLECTIONS MAGAZINE | Issue 03
A
woman who pays her own bills, buys her own things, does not allow a man to affect her stability or self-confidence. An independent woman is a strong woman who doesn’t need to try to fit into a certain mold that society has created. #She is confident and believes in her abilities. #She doesn’t rely on other people for her happiness and has the freedom to make her own decisions. #She knows her worth and exercises her ability to use her voice to make a change. Usually tough jobs are easy on her because she believes in her self.
How do you know if you are among the millions of independent women in the world today? “Let’s discuss some mindsets and actions independent women don’t do so you can gauge your strength and independence.
Below are things an independent woman never does
1. She isn’t scared to make her own decisions.
She isn’t concerned about putting her needs and judgement first when making decisions. She doesn’t feel need to feminist her decision- making power to appease someone else. When she has a problem, she confidently chooses a course of action to fix it. She doesn’t sit around , waiting for someone to make her decision for her, She is aware of what needs to be done and she does it.
2. She doesn’t wait for things to find her. If she wants money, she gets a job. If she wants family, she makes one. If she a partner she finds one. She doesn’t wait around for someone to rescue her or tell her what to do. She knows what to do and does it. She is proactive , not reactive.
3. She isn’t afraid to do things alone. If she wants to see a movie but doesn’t have anyone to go with her, she is comfortable enough to go alone. She doesn’t need to wait for someone to come along and hold her hand while doing the things she wants to do. She enjoys the company of others but doesn’t depend on them to define her actions.

4. She doesn’t engage in negative self-talk
*But she is smart enough to know when to communicate and compromise with important people in her life about decisions that might affect them.*
She has enough respect for herself that she knows she is deserving and worthy. She doesn’t wallow in self- recriminations or self pity.
6. She doesn’t complain.
As a strong woman she reminds herself of the positive attributes she possesses and can share with the world.
She knows that sitting around and complaining is a waste of time. Instead of doing this, she is proactive and takes the necessary steps to fix the issue at hand. She knows the problem won’t fix itself. She gets it accomplished and moves on with her life
During challenging times, she turns her focus to gratitude and optimism. She recognizes her weaknesses but views them as opportunity for growth. She talks to herself like she would talk to her friend- with compassion and kindness.
7. She doesn’t hold things in.
If she wants to do something she doesn’t wait for someone to tell her that she is allowed to do it. She makes well-considered choices that support her independence and inner strength.
If she believes someone’s behavior is out of line, she will call them out on it. She has learned how to do this in a way that is firm but respectful and can stand her ground without resorting to passive aggressive comments or hurtful words. She isn’t scared to tell people that they are in wrong even if she risks their displeasure. She can cut to the chase and does let people get off the hook when they cross her boundaries or act inappropriately.
She makes her own decisions with confidence and does not need to consult a partner or a parent to know what is in her best interest.
She definitely doesn’t take the time to beat around the bush because she has other things to do.
5. She doesn’t wait for permission.

9. She doesn’t look around for the leader.
If she hears somebody making a sexist, rac-
She is the leader. She takes charge of situations through her leadership skills and has the passion and charisma that is needed for people to pay attention and follow her instructions. She can lead through queit and reserved strength or by being charismatic and gregarious but her inner strength and leadership qualities shine through regardless.
ist, or disrespectful remark, she can calmly tell the person that the remark is offensive and not appreciated.
10. She isn’t scared of taking risks She is smart enough to make sure that her risks are calculated, and doesn’t rush into any compromising situations.
8. She doesn’t need constant validation. She doesn’t post on social media to count the number of likes she gets, and she doesn’t fish for compliments when she is out with friends.
She knows how to weigh her options and consider the possible rewards and pitfalls before making decisions. But once she is ready to push the button, she isn’t scared to go for it.
She is too busy doing things that matter and has too much respect for herself to need people to boost up her ego. She doesn’t go around seeking attention to boost her self-esteem. She already knows she is awesome.

11.She doesn’t play the victim. She knows that things happen. Everyone struggles at some point. But, she also knows things don’t just happen just to her or because she is deficient in some way.
She takes responsibility for her feelings and recognizes that she is the only person who can do anything to change them.
The adversity that happens in her life doesn’t define who she is or her core values.
Ways to gain independency 1. Spend sometime reflecting upon yourself.
She doesn’t create a pattern or negative thinking or have a “poor me” attitude. She never blames other people for her situation.
2. Learn to enjoy your alone time. 3. Understand your finances.
If she doesn’t like her current circumstances, she finds a way out of them.
4. Change your vocabulary.
12. She doesn’t blame other people for her feelings.
5. Understand your own wants, needs and desires.
She knows that she is the only person in control of her feelings. When she is sad, she doesn’t think that someone else “ made her sad” that way. She doesn’t rely on other people to be happy either.
6. Know your strengths and weaknesses and play to them.

7. Get to know your personality. 8. Make yourself priority.

HEALTH POLYCYSTIC OVARIAN SYNDROME (PCOS)
is more likely a result of, rather than a cause of, ovarian dysfunction. In addition, one of the most consistent biochemical features of PCOS is a raised blood male hormone (testosterone). Insulin resistance is also associated with polycystic ovarian syndrome. Genes, insulin resistance, and inflammation have all been linked to excess male hormone (androgen) production.
What are the symptoms of PCOS? Symptoms include menstrual irregularity, excess hair growth, acne and obesity. Menstrual irregularities include abnormal menstruation, absence of menstruation, heavy menstruation, irregular menstruation, short and light menstruation, or spotting. High levels of male hormones prevent the ovaries from producing hormones in a balanced way and thus affecting maturation of eggs normally. This results in a peripheral ring of cysts measuring between 2mm-9mm and the cysts range from 9 to 20 cysts. The layer covering the ovary thickens thus preventing ovulation from taking place.
By Dr Abigael Jemedze
What is polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS)? PCOS is a problem with hormones that affects women during their childbearing years (ages 15 to 44). The cause of polycystic ovary syndrome isn’t well understood, but may involve a combination of genetic and environmental factors. The major features of polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) include menstrual abnormalities and signs of excess male hormones. Although the exact cause of this condition is unclear, PCOS can result from abnormal function of the brain area responsible for periods and the ovary (hypothalamic-pituitaryovarian (HPO) axis). A key characteristic of PCOS is female hormonal imbalance, which www.viciouscollections.co.zw
Weight issues: obesity, overweight, or weight gain. Polycystic ovarian syndrome is linked to insulin resistance which subsequently results in weight gain. The weight is concentrated in the midsection (truncal obesity-belly fat) Skin: acne or oily skin. High level of male hormones free testosterone, contribute to acne from oily skin. Common also are subfertility /infertility, depression, loss of scalp hair, unwanted hair for example beard, leg hair, or virilization. Both hormonal changes

of your body weight improves one’s condition. Losing weight may also increase the effectiveness of medications for PCOS, and can help with infertility. To regulate your menstrual cycle, the following may be recommended: • Combined birth control pills (brown and white). Pills that contain oestrogen and progestin decrease androgen production and regulate oestrogen. Regulating hormones can lower the risk of endometrial cancer and also correct abnormal bleeding, excess hair growth and acne.
and symptoms like unwanted hair growth can negatively affect your emotions. Many with PCOS end up experiencing anxiety or even depression when coupled with subfertility and obesity.
How do Doctors diagnose PCOS? Doctors diagnose PCOS if women have at least two of three main symptoms Excessive Hair- high androgen levels, irregular periods, and cysts in the ovaries. A pelvic exam, blood tests, and ultrasound can confirm the diagnosis.
• Progestin therapy. Taking progestin for 10 to 14 days every one to two months can regulate your periods and protect against endometrial cancer. Progestin therapy doesn’t improve androgen levels and won’t prevent pregnancy. The progesterone-only pill (POP) or progestin-containing intrauterine device is a better choice if you also wish to avoid pregnancy.
What are the chances of getting pregnant with PCOS? The infertility rate with polycystic ovaries is very high. These women usually will have difficulty getting pregnant - and usually require treatment to improve chances for pregnancy. Some women with polycystic ovary syndrome will ovulate (release a mature egg) occasionally - others do not ever ovulate. Chances of conception are higher under the age of 35 years.
If subfertility is the main problem then fertility pills will be prescribed for example letrozole or clomid. Metformin, the oral medication for type 2, diabetes improves insulin resistance and lowers insulin levels. It helps with weight loss and conception. If you have prediabetes, metformin can also slow the progression to type 2 diabetes. Gonadotropins. These hormone medications are given by injection. To reduce excessive hair growth, birth control pills, decrease androgen production that can cause excessive hair growth. Spironolactone, blocks the

Zoolian Karendo When God’s grace locates you. Zoolie was born on 19 January 2017. He was born to Christopher Karendo and Tatenda Chihota who resides in Chikonohono in Chinhoyi. Zoolie became the most popular kid in Zimbabwe after his video clip went viral. In the video clip Zoolie was complaining to his father to buy bread hence he was tired of eating sweet potatoes(mbambaira) everyday. It was his innocence , boldness and his
freedom of speech that attracted so many people including companies to come on board and help the young man out,and provide for his needs and wants. Proton Bread immediately responded to the young men’s cry and made sure the little man got bread for the whole year. Zolie’s statement “mukutikuwadza nembambaira tengai chingwa” changed Zoolie and his parents’ life from that day. I believe Zoolain Karendo is an ambassador not just for a company or companies but to all young children out there. Zoolain Karendo is the voice of the voiceless, he has demonstrated to other children that they should not be afraid to speak out their minds. A number of children are mentally, verbally, physically, sexually abused everyday and sometimes by their own parents, they are taught not
to complain but to get used to what’s there and forget about what they want. Many thanks to individuals, companies helping Zoolian, may this not end with him only, let’s help other underprivileged children out there . Children are vulnerable, they are our responsibility, let’s support and empower them to be the best they can be .

CONJUGAL RIGHTS
then her husband should be meeting her where she is at in her sexuality. If you are looking to have great sex with same person for the rest of your life, they are three strands to work on: 1. Being a decent human being 2. Understanding the body 3. Using your imagination. The “key” to a lasting and satisfying sex life is never “just this” or “just that”. It’s the combination of many positive factors working well together and the absence of nega-
Definition The sexual rights or privileges implied by and involved in the marriage relationship: the right for sexual intercourse between husband and wife.
What does the Bible say about depriving your spouse? The wife’s body does not belong to her alone but to her husband, in the same way, the husband’s body does not belong to him alone but also to his wife. Do not deprive each other except by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer.
tive factors that would hinder it.
How do you behave if your wife denies your conjugal rights every often?
Sex is not about restoring or preserving a sense of self worthy. It’s about celebrating their worth in a context of unity. And unity doesn’t mean always wanting sex at the same time, it means finding a rhythm in your sex lives that both spouses can enjoy, where neither feels emptied. And if that’s not happening , if for example, a wife doesn’t want sex, but she wants to want sex, www.viciouscollections.co.zw
28
The best way to behave is to be kind, understanding, and supportive. Sexual interest is much greater for women who feel appreciated, valued, and cared about. Foreplay starts at dinner, when you thank her for a great meal, help her with the children or the dishes, and have a good conversation. VICIOUS COLLECTIONS MAGAZINE | Issue 03
In short, treating her well gets you treated well. Relationship are reciprocal. If you make the other person feel valued, she will make you feel valued.
4. My wife and I are happily married. However, my sex drive is far higher than hers. I don’t want to hurt her feelings, but what should I do? 5. Is it wrong to want sex when your wife won’t give you any?
There are cases in which sex hurts for a women e.g when your penis is too big, or when you penetrate her when she is dry. Observe her facial expressions during sex and see whether she is in pain. If so, use lubricant. Be gentle and kind. You are romancing her , not putting your needs first (remember,

Some of the questions arising from men on sex issues. Questions 1. My wife continually tells me to go and have an affair to satisfy my needs, while I don’t really want to! Should I go ahead? 2. My wife is extremely frigid in bed, and iam the opposite. I’m frustrated now after 3 years of marriage. Could you please help? 3. My wife doesn’t want to be intimate with me, and I get very frustrated about it. How can I overcome the situation?
