în a-şi prezenta nurii. Mă voi erija într-o ipostaza pe care mai mult ca sigur nu mi-o va recunoaşte nicio fată: de sfătuitor! Fetelor, prea multe dintre voi credeţi că revistele de frumuseţe vă fac urâte. Da, poate vă descoperiţi unele mici defecte comparânduvă cu personajele photoshopate de pe hârtia glossy. Dar nimeni nu vă poate împiedica să refuzaţi această ştachetă.

Sunt sigur că aţi mai auzit aşa ceva, precum şi una din faimoasele derivate ale acestei aserţiuni, aceea că, în epoca noastră, frumuseţea este preponderent exterioară. Cine au fost victimele sau marile câştigătoare ale acestei transformări a percepţiei? Mă încumet să spun că reprezentantele sexului frumos şi slab.

Puteţi zâmbi înţelegătoare privind goana altora după mult râvnita distincţie That Hansel, he’s so hot right now!, pentru că, până la urmă, setea de frumuseţe n-o fi aşa dezumanizantă ca setea de putere sau de avuţie.

Mi-am început cariera fotografiind baruri şi cluburi de noapte, asta stârnindu-mi pasiunea pentru fotografie şi determinându-mă să îmi achiziţionez un echipamnet profesionist în vedere viitoarei mele slujbe. Apoi, am avut ocazia să îmi public fotografiile într-o revistă cunoscută din oraşul natal. Am lucrat timp de un an ca asistent al fotografului de modă Danilo Russo în São Paulo. Acolo am căpătat multe cunoştiinţe, m-am deprins cu tehnici folosite într-un studio profesionist şi am avut şansa să ţin câteva cursuri despre fotografie, modă, folosirea luminii, publicitate şi evenimente. În prezent, îmi dedic activitatea fotografiei căutând mereu să îmi îmbunătăţesc tehnicile. Photography is my daily dialogue with the world in which I live. The world is full of stories which must be stolen, taken to, filtered personally and forwarded. I think that’s exactly what I try to do through photography: to capture special moments of world’s spectacle, to extract a moment of grace from a succession of banalities, to change a common thing into an extraordinary one, to search for light in a crowd of shadows and to recognize a song from a lot of noise. I prefer the black and white photography for its force of expression and the timeless perspective. I have been taking photos since I was in high school, but I’ve started to do this seriously since 2005.

Fotografia reprezintă dialogul meu zilnic cu universul în care mă mişc. Lumea e plină de poveşti care se cer furate, îndrăgite, trecute prin filtru personal şi date mai departe. Cred ca asta încerc să fac prin fotografie: să surprind fragmente aparte din spectacolul lumii, să extrag o clipă de graţie dintr-o înşiruire de banalităţi, să prefac ordinarul în extraordinar, să scormonesc după lumină într-o aglomerare de umbre şi să intuiesc o linie melodică dintr-o succesiune de zgomote. Prefer fotografia alb-negru pentru forţa expresiei şi impresia de atemporal. Fotografiez din timpul liceului, însă constant şi riguros din 2005.

Am avut un Olympus mai mult de doi ani; mi-ar plăcea ca într-o zi să pot să fac fotografii cu Yashica, aparatul vechi al tatălui meu. Sunt nepotul lui Mahmoud Shawkey Alayoubi, unul din cei maicunoscuţi poeţi din Kuweit şi Orientul Mijlociu. Mulţi membrii ai familie mele sunt pasionaţi de artă precum poezia sau pictura. Jamal Abdulnasser Al-Ayoubi is the name I was giving after the great arabian leaders Jamal Abdulnasser, the president of Egypt and my greatest grandfather, the arabian leader Salahuldein Alayoubi, but I have nothing to do with politics. I earned the great love of art from my family, I’m the grandson of Mahmoud Shawkey Alayoubi, one of the most known poets in Kuwait and Middle East. Many of my family members have the passion for art. My uncle Safwan Al-ayoubi is famous for his surreal abstract oil paintings. I used to write poetry in 1994 and I printed a book of 300 pages. Now I’m a photographer and I love this unique.

Susanne (1945) was born in Vlaardingen – near Rotterdam. She now lives in Leiden, about thirty minutes by train from Amsterdam. - The window portraits were made with a canon D30 and 20d and a 75-300mm zoom. Later I had a canon 40d, which was stolen in 2008. I now work with a nikon 300d, 16-85 mm lens and a 70-300 zoom. Susanne (1945) s-a născut în Vlaardingen – lângă Rotterdam. În prezent, locuieşte în Leiden, Olanda, la 30 de minute de mers cu trenul de Amsterdam. Fotografiile cu ferestre au fost făcute cu un Canon D30 şi 20d şi un zoom de 75-300mm. Apoi, am avut un Canon 40d care mi s-a furat în 2008. Acum lucrez cu un Nikon 300d, obiectiv 16-85 mm şi un zoom de 70-300mm. Born and raised in the middle of Germany I currently live near Munich. I discovered photography as a creative medium 6 years ago, starting with taking photos of flowers and soon venturing into macro photography, landscapes and food photography, concentrating on small details, minimalistic reflections of nature and its beauty. I try to work only with natural light. If I can provoke feelings, make the viewer feel touched and at the very least smile, that’s when I say: Mission accomplished. Fotografia ca mediu creativ am descoperit-o acum 6 ani când am început să fotografiez florile, aventurându-mă apoi în macrofotografie, fotografie cu peisaje şi mâncare şi concentrându-mă pe mici detalii, pe reflecţiile fine ale naturii şi frumuseţea ei. Încerc să lucrez doar cu lumină naturală. Dacă reuşesc să stârnesc sentimente şi să îl fac pe cel care le priveşte să schiţeze chiar şi un zâmbet mic, atunci spun: Misiune îndeplinită. Tema: Unitate în diversitate Termen-limită: 15 aprilie 2009 Mail la: office@cameraobscura.ro Asociaţia pentru Integrare Europeana Quiz, organizaţie nonguvernamentală de tineret, te invită să participi la un concurs fotografic pe tema Unitate în diversitate. Nu este doar motto-ul Uniunii Europene, este o realitate care poate fi surprinsă artistic de aparatul tău fotografic! Ne dorim să promovăm viziunile tinerilor în ceea ce priveşte diversitatea, într-un mod creativ, original. În afara premiului unic de 100 de euro, cele mai bune poze vor fi expuse în Izmir, Turcia în cadrul unei expoziţii foto (mai 2009). Acest concurs face parte din proiectul internaţional Networking Europe, co-finanţat de Uniunea Europeană şi implementat de patru organizaţii din România, Turcia, Spania şi Italia.
