Sobre la representación del "No-Lugar" en el cine
Language: Spanish (Castellano)
Abstract:
“If a place can be defined as relational, historical and concerned with identity, then a space which cannot be defined as relational, or historical, or concerned with identity will be a non-place” This
is how the anthropologist Marc Augé defines a “non-place”, term coined to refer to spaces that belong to “supermodernity”. Cinema, as an element of artistic expression, has pictured different spaces and ambiences throughout its history, either by recreating the scenery or the infographics of places that have disappeared, or by using real ambiences. This work focuses on the representation of the “nonplace”, identifying its antecedents in movies before postmodernity; its emergence, as Augé points out, in movies produced in the past last decades; and finally its appearance in a distorted manner according to
apocalyptic visions, such as Koolhass’ “Junkspace”, within the genre of science fiction.
