I approach my surroundings with curiosity and find great pleasure in documenting and learning about anything I encounter. It interests me, how my surroundings and my perception of things change gradually as I expand my knowledge of things. Also, how I see the city in contrast to how I imagine it. Through photography and words, I try to grasp and communicate what I see. In my work, I move continuously between a conceptual and pragmatic approach, in a circular process. I try to develop a broader contextual understanding through drawing, that goes beyond topological conditions and strives to unite different phenomena within the given context. I see architecture as a field of events in which humans move; a passage between the volumes, the built masses, the entrance to a home or the view from the bench in the park e.g. With this idea, i find myself being much more aware of the different scales that are to be looked upon in a contextual reading, and which are to be considered in the actual drawing process.

CONCEPTUAL DRAWINGS The drawing is used as a reflective tool to examine the environment surrounding the site, while at the same time negotiating form, structure, programming and organization of a body. It can be read and interpreted in many ways. As section, plan, fragments etc. But most importantly, the drawing begins creating a conceptual basis for the further work.
