DELHI
DELHI India
In the process of researching the National Capital State of Delhi, one recurring topic that we came across was the issue of inequity. Specifically, levels of wealth compared to living standards. The map displays two attributes. The first is the Income by ward which is illustrated by diiffering levels of black and greys*. The darkest colour, black, represents high income wards and light grey represents low income wards. The lightest grey areas are wards without data. Overlaid on the wards is the percentage of slum dwellings represented at five kilometer intervals, shown through the line diagram. Through viewing these attributes, disparities between higher income wards and percentage of slum dwellings was noted and illustrated in yellow. The aim is to show the stark contrast between these two attributes through these lines.
