HOW TO DRAW A CROISSANT
HOW TO DRAW A CROISSANT
HOW TO DRAW A CROISSANT
Some improvements have been made, such as caption text has been adjusted to appropriate size and a clear outline of section drawings has been added to donate the cut. I showed the sense of depth by using texture to let people feel the surface of a visual element. Furthermore, I used shadow to show that it is a 3 dimensional object and there are some holes on it. And I used the depth of field, it’s like when we look somewhere and focus on one object, the others should be blurred. And i used dotted line to show which side is on the back, actually you can’t see these lines at this point of view. The axonometric projection is like showing a 3 dimensional subject on a 2 dimensional paper.
The drawing should be accurate since I didn’t change the size of my croissant after finishing scanning my croissant and put it into photoshop. So it should be the actual size of my croissant. Also, I have measured the size of the printing and it was perfect to fit the figure which the actual size should be. I used some lines to insure that it was the actual size. So basically the lengths and width should be same.

FLATNESS VS. PROJECTION
FLATNESS VS. PROJECTION
For this Module, the whole theme of my Mario World is based on the Disney movie Aladdin, which means I can exploit the elements in the elevation in a unique way. I translate the pipes into torches, and the lamp and the magic carpet have been added to associate the theme. The sense of three dimensional space has been enhanced further through the development of gradient and show. Some more textural exploration such as the basement with lava flowing out, can also been seen in the final work.

PATTERN VS. SURFACE
PATTERN VS. SURFACE
This work is designed to have a shape as complex as possible by using the most simple modules. With the given terrain, I explored different types of objects that are developable and I chose those five modules to show a variety use of solids. Modules have been placed in order with interleaving some different modules in order to make it more complicated. The variation in height and the use of two attractor points creates a continuous surface, which references the ‘wave’ effect.

The reason of building the second floor should be creating the second perspective easier since the figures in perspective 1 do not need to be hided. Furthermore, the relationship between these two cities/period has been noted as “different but related in the story. The stairs and separated floors can show the relationship that different but related, and the height of upper floor can illustrate that the second city has a predominance.

PERSPECTIVE SCENE 2
REFLECTION Throughout the context of the lectures and readings in the Foundations of Design Representation, there were a lot theories and histor y about design have been introduced during this semester, which helped me a lot during the process of making different module in this semester. For example, the understanding of axonometric can be helpful to create Module one and two, and the Durer ’s rules for perspectival projection can also help me with Module four making. Some context is really interesting, such as the axonometric projection which was used to represent three-dimensional trajectories of cannon projectiles. I also found that there are still a lot things about architecture that I need to learn in the fur ther. During this semester I encountered computer programs that I almost had no experience before, which help me to transfer my idea or hand drawings onto a screen. I was over whelmed by the sof tware skills since it is really hard for me to learn them in such a shor t amount of time. I also struggled to use the rhino at the beginning. As a personal perspective, my least successful module was Module 2 since I didn’t express my idea in a correct way. I intended to create a world associating with the Disney movie Aladdin, however, it has strayed too far from the original elevations. The colour I have used and the background I have created cannot be associated with the original elevations. My most successful module should be Module 4 since I can use rhino exper tly at the end of this semester and I am quite proud of the photoshop skills I delivered in it.
