Developing master plan of Libeznice Team work: Akgun Esra Amdahl Andreas Beraia Guram Gerasimova Victoria Hoydahl Chris Orozco Maria
In the heart of the periphery. Libeznice is a progressive town forty minutes away from Prague, which is developing fast and grows in density. The site for the new master plan is located in the town centre, between the town hall, the post office, and the church. The main idea of our master plan was to create the central square with convenient access from different parts of the town. The main two axes are the stream and the view connection between the church and the post office towers.

The plot for the final project is located on the edge of the square and connects it with the path along the stream from the Easter part of the neighbourhood. This building works as an entrance point to the square. It consists of two houses facing each other and connected by the bridge.

Project name is Art Hub as it a co-housing living for the artists and musicians. The design concept of the building is to mix private, shared, and public and provide a connection between internal and external spaces. The bridge on the attic floor connects two buildings. There is a common space where residents can organise concerts and exhibitions. It is accessible to the public and has its own circulation. Each house has private bedrooms and bathrooms, shared kitchens, living rooms, and studios. Shared rooms are facing to the street and square to provide a connection with the exterior when bedrooms are facing gardens to provide more intimacy. On the first floor, windows are narrow for the privacy and an intimate atmosphere in shared space.

Facades facing the square have terraces, big windows, and doors on the ground floor. This provides a connection between living space and square: musicians can play in the kitchen/terrace to the street, artists could paint and party on the patio.

Publicly available spaces and circulation are visible to the exterior due to the semi-transparent polycarbonate facade. It invites pedestrians to join events by giving them a hint of what is happening inside.
