• To raise awareness and provide training in the crucial impact of early diagnosis and the effectiveness of multidisciplinary care for patients diagnosed with these types of cancer.
Learning objectives:
• By the end of this symposium, participants will have had the opportunity to gain further knowledge in: • benefits of early detection and identifying the correct referral pathway • basic Principles and Surgical Management and how primary care can assist. • advancement of radio oncology in the treatment of head and neck cancers in the last 3 years • critical issues with dental planning prior to cancer treatment. • oral and oropharyngeal complications post-treatment: surgical, radio oncology, speech and swallowing, Nutritional and phycological. • patient-reported outcome measures (PROMS) • pre/post and long-term care Head and Neck radiation treatment and general dental management post cancer treatment • Prevention and Management of osteoradionecrosis • complex dental rehabilitation and the role of the general dental
