Si invertimos el planteamiento Darwiniano puede pasar que, lo que parece la cúspide de la civilización, no esté pensada para el hombre, sino para animales capaces de desarrollar comportamientos más eficaces que los del ser humano.
If we reverse the Darwinian approach, it may happen that what seems to be the apex of civilization is not designed for man, but for animals capable of developing more efficient behaviors than those of human beings.
La obra de Cesc Abad permite adentrarnos en una especie de jardín del Edén donde cada elemento vive en comunión con su entorno, y al mismo tiempo, nos hace reflexionar sobre los peligros de los avances tecnológicos, que pueden hacer mutar partes de un cuerpo animal, en un semáforo o una pistola. Quizá estemos ante una involución de las especies, donde los verdaderos parias del planeta serán los hombres y mujeres que observan los deseos de la especie animal. Quizá estemos ante una nueva distopía que nos permite reflexionar sobre nuestro papel en el mundo, como una sátira del comportamiento humano. Cesc Abad’s work allows us to enter a kind of garden of Eden where each element lives in communion with its environment , and at the same time , makes us reflect on the dangers of technological advances that can mutate parts of an animal body , in a traffic light or a gun. Perhaps we are facing an involution of the species, where the true outcasts of the planet will be the men and women who observe the desires of the animal species. Perhaps we are facing a new dystopia that allows us to reflect on our role in the world, as a satire of human behavior. Perhaps, Cesc Abad is inventing a world, to talk about ours.
