In this paper, when studies and interventions were carried out in the village-neighborhood Coqueiro da Praia, coast of the State of Piauí, we had the opportunity to know the community, which holds a rich natural and cultural heritage, with emphasis on fishing gear and construction of artisanal vessels, today, heritage at risk. Day by day, we noticed the reduction of the amount of handmade canoes in use on the shore of Coqueiro beach, 100 meters from the Museu da Vila (Village Museum); the lack of interest of young people in the community for the activities related to the craft and ways of knowing fishing gear, which includes the techniques of building vessels and their artifacts; lack of knowledge and recognition of local heritage. There is a set of memories and stories associated to the family, sociocultural tradition of this work and ways of knowing how-to, which need to be recorded, safeguarded. In this perspective, the objective of this paper was to elaborate an architectural project and its complementary for a School Shipyard, in a building without social use, located on José Quirino Street, in front of the Museu da Vila (Village Museum), as an extension of this cultural equipment in the village-neighborhood Coqueiro da Praia, linked to the Post - Graduation Program, Professional Master’s Degree, in Arts, Heritage and Museology (PPGAPM), of the Federal University of Piauí, which can be an instrument for promoting these assets. We hope this project will take place in the short, medium and long term. In the short term we have already managed to carry out together with the local community socio-educational actions to create knoledge and recognition of the craft and ways of know-how, with the use of tools of education and patrimonial and museal interpretation, with the promotion of chat group of memories, workshops of craft models construction and architectural design and complementary to the Shipyard School; in the medium and long term, we hope that the Coordination of the Master´s Degree, Museu da Vila (Village Museum) and Association of Residents of the Neighborhood Coqueiro da Praia, enable the fundraising for the execution of the Architectural Project, which we elaborated and donated to the Federal University of the Delta of Parnaíba, as well as the implementation of the equipment focused on a didactic training of master carpenters, painters , joiners and modelers, who can act in the artisanal production of vessels, as it already occurs at the Escola do Maranhão Shipyard,
