Rapid deployment of new technology, including the rise of frictionless translation, means we’re living in an increasingly global society and marketplace. Being able to connect with fans and monetize content across borders opens enormous opportunities for creators and brands. But this expansion comes with some new challenges and some existential questions. Should creators focus on content that has global appeal, rather than content that is specific to a particular country or region? How can US-based creators navigate various cultural nuances and social mores? This two-part session unpacks these questions and more.

Part 1: Succeeding Across Europe

Europe is characterized by its cultural and linguistic diversity. There are 24 official languages within the EU. How can brands and creators succeed in Europe? Should content be translated? Does every country need a different approach? This session will provide practical strategies for creators and brands seeking to expand into the European market.

Part 2: Taiwan as the Entry Point to Asia

Taiwanese YouTube is flourishing as the undisputed home of Mandarinspeaking content on YouTube. Previously overlooked as a market, Taiwan ranks in the top 2 of GDP per capita in Asia and offers material opportunities for cost-efficient international marketingespecially important as budgets become more constrained.
