How to Organize Your Kitchen Quick and Easilya Having a big kitchen is something many people dream about but after years of collecting cooking utensils the kitchen ends up quite messy and cramped. Ensuring that everything is in the right place makes cooking and cleaning a lot easier. Here are some things you can do to help you organize your kitchen quickly and easily. If you have the space, a breakfast storage bar is an ideal way to organize all the breakfast foods and materials. Many families are together for both breakfast and dinner and while dinner items can usually be kept away, having everything you need for breakfast in one place is s great way to keep organized. If you have an island you can add shelves to it and store cereals, bowls, cups, napkins, and even cans and recycling without having to go through the effort of putting everything away behind a cupboard. When it’s out in the open it’s easy to clean and organize and you’re more likely to keep it tidy when it’s something you see every day. The common adage “less is more” can also apply to the kitchen. If you have a small kitchen it’s important that everything is used and you don’t have items taking up space that you aren’t using at all. Everything should be within an easy reach and if you find you’re only using certain things once a month or less, just throw them away. Using racks to store things is also a great idea. Wooden racks can be used to store wine bottles, condiments, napkins, cups, or whatever else you might decide on. When it’s out in the open and easy to reach it’s a lot easier to keep it organized and tidy. Make sure that all the space you have is being used effectively. Everything should have a space and even the spot under the oven should be used to store things you’re using. For example, keep all the cups in one place, and all the Tupperware or storage containers in another. When you start mixing everything up is when it becomes disorganized and hard to clean. Taking small steps in the beginning will make it a lot easier to clean in the future. There is also storage places that people don’t consider. Shelves can be added above doorways and on the wall above your head. These shelves can store cookbooks, spices, or anything else you want within easy reach. Using all the space you have effectively is key to staying clean and organized. Also, don’t let everything pile up and neglect it. If you clean and tidy on a regular basis it’s a lot easier to maintain a certain standard than if you leave it to once a week, or month. If you’re not able to handle the cleaning you can ask your children or even consider hiring a cleaning lady. Following these tips will ensure you have a clean and organized kitchen for years to come. Remember, if you put forth the effort to improve your living space you will be able to enjoy the benefits without stressing about how dirty or unorganized your kitchen is.
