PROJECT ACTIVITIES RESEARCH Results of the research will help to develop and implement business model and to understand needs of the potential customers to successfully enter the international business market.
HARDWARE HACKATHON September 2017 entrepreneurs, students and experts from different fields will meet each other on so- called hardware hackathon concentrating on wood industry challenges and its’ possibilities. Participants will form cross-border and crosssectorial teams to develop over 48 hours’ new exportable products or solve industries problems.
INNOVATIONS & DESIGN WORKSHOPS What is product design, functional design, design thinking? Is design adding value to the products? What are the tendencies of design? These workshops will give further insight to the topics.

WORKSHOPS ON EXPORT Entrepreneurs learns from practical information how to increase export capacity for successful business.
CONTACT VISITS BETWEEN PARTNER REGIONS To introduce neighboring companies to business leaders from the partner region – to get to know with good practices and exchange experiences in business development in the industry. TRADE MISSIONS Trade missions from selected export target countries are invited to visit the area. Missions will involve visits to the companies from both regions and joint networking seminars.
VISIT TO INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION Most active participants will visit one international exhibition, which will be selected based on the results of the research.

INNOVATIONS AND HIGH ADDED VALUE PRODUCTS One of the main industries of Estonia and Latvia is woodworking, but still at least 40% unprocessed wood and logs are exported to other countries. At the sector of wood and furniture there are many opportunities for innovation and developing high added value products. Project partners will unite young and experienced entrepreneurs, students, lecturers, designers, experts of marketing, technology and wood industries as well as potential export partners. The project will seek answers to existing challenges in the development of wood industry, as well as help develop unprecedented and competitive export products.
