Hey Friends, What is the best time of the year? That’s right: the holidays! And because we don’t want to waste a second of it, we’re going to get straight to it. Next stop: the big holiday adventure. Starting with the high ropes course in Bucharest. And once we’ve got used to the lofty heights, let’s follow that up with a rowdy rollercoaster ride. Where? At Legoland in Günzburg. Then there’s still plenty of time left over to come back down to earth. At Wawel Cave in Cracow, for example. Or by colouring our POSTER ON PAGES 12/13.

Centrifugal force
Weight of the car accelerates the rollercoaster
At the first downhill, Car 1 rolls over the slope and pulls the other cars after it. Car 5 is the fastest at the top, as all five cars accelerate the train. Because of the forces that are produced, the occupants are likely to be lifted out of their seats (airtime).
Weight of the car slows the rollercoaster down
at which the train is the fastest. The g-forces are now strongest in Car 3. When the rollercoaster leaves the lowest point, Cars 1 through 4 slow the train down. The centrifugal forces acting on Car 5 are therefore smaller at this point than on Car 3.
When the rollercoaster passes through the lowest point, Cars 1 and 2 slow the train down while Cars 4 and 5 speed it up. This is the point 7

A DAY ON THE BALTIC SEA The pier in Międzyzdroje wasn’t built in one day. Our sandcastle was. We tell you what you need and what you should look out for in order to build the perfect sandcastle.
+ Water-to-sand ratio of 1:8
The most important thing when building your sandcastle is the ratio of water to sand – because the water acts like an adhesive that holds the sand together.

Paddling is more than just sticking your paddle in the water. Joh shows you some of the different strokes there are.
1. Forward stroke
2. J stroke
3. Draw stroke
4. Sweep stroke
Lean the upper body slightly forward, press the blade into the water and pull it straight back parallel to the boat.
Moves the canoe sideways. Insert the paddle into the water about 60 cm from the boat and pull inward.
This stroke keeps the bow from steering to the side. Begin like a standard forward stroke, then rotate the paddle a quarter turn and push away from the canoe.
Used to change direction. The front paddler pushes the paddle forward, the rear paddler pushes backwards.
