San Joaquin Valley Partnership Program October 2013 Focus: San Joaquin Valley kWh and peak kW reductions This Month’s Major Accomplishments:  The partnership held community events in Stratford (County of Kings) and Waukena (County of Tulare) in which residents and businesses were presented with materials in order to save money and energy through no-cost and low-cost measures.  A monthly Partnership meeting was held on Thursday, October 17th. Marcia Tolentino from Build It Green presented on a free training opportunity for real estate professionals as well as city staff employees.  Implementing partner met with the City of Farmersville for efforts related to benchmarking and drafting an Energy Action Plan.  Implementing partner made ‘good will’ visits to the City of Porterville and the City of Woodlake and delivered utility Demand Response banners.  Implementing partner attended the Kern Energy Watch Energy Action Plan Summit on October 30th in Bakersfield. Key Issues or Emerging Concerns: Upcoming Milestones  The partnership will launch its ‘Kill-a-Watt Crackdown’, a year-long building energy challenge at its November luncheon. It was originally scheduled to launch in October but was put on hold due to the temporary federal government shut down that made Portfolio Manager inaccessible.
