San Joaquin Valley Partnership Program February 2013 Focus: San Joaquin Valley kWh and peak kW reductions This Month’s Major Accomplishments:  Implementing partner attended the Benchmarking Taskforce kickoff meeting on February 5th at the EEFG offices in San Francisco.  The partnership had a booth at the Visalia SpringFest Home and Patio Show from February 8th through February 10th. All three utility partners were represented – SCE provided the Mobile Education Unit staff and displays, SoCalGas provided a retired employee as a volunteer as well as collateral, and PG&E provided collateral.  Implementing partner attended the Strategic Plan Initiatives Best Practices Workshop in Monrovia on February 11th.  Implementing partner attended the World Ag Expo in Tulare on February 14th on behalf of the partnership.  The first monthly partnership meeting of the new program cycle was held on February 21st at the Visalia Chamber of Commerce.  Implementing partner participated in the CPUC Statewide Marketing, Education, and Outreach Update Webinar on February 25th and 26th.  Implementing partner attended the February 28th SoCal REN Advisory Committee kick-off meeting in Los Angeles. Courtney Kalashian will serve as the San Joaquin Valley representative to ensure that REN activities benefit local governments in the Central Valley. Key Issues or Emerging Concerns:  Implementing partner continued to work with utility partners on monthly reimbursement request submission processes. On February 27th a utility invoice template was provided to implementing partner with SCE and SCG budget numbers so that the submission process could finally begin. Implementing partner is concerned that such delays will continue into the future as they did back in 2010 when the implementing partner was not paid for more than six months. Upcoming Milestones  The first quarter Peer to Peer meeting will be March 1, 2013.  The next monthly Partnership meeting will be March 21, 2013.  The Central California and Central Coast Local Government Partnership meeting will be April 9th in Coalinga.  The partnership will have a booth at the County of Kings Employee Recognition BBQ on May 7th.  The partnership will have a booth at the Porterville Prospect Education Center Earth Day on May 10th.
