Allmannajuvet Zinc mine museum, Norway In 2002, world renowned architect Peter Zumthor was commissioned by the Norwegian Public Roads Administration to design a tourist route attraction for the purpose of welcoming visitors and bringing the old mining history of Sauda back to life. The simplistic buildings are inspired by the mining operation, and the worker’s strenuous everyday lives. The installation consists of a museum building, a cafe building, toilet and parking facilities, paths and stairs.

zinc mine museum, allmannajuvet, norway
The interior walls have been painted in a dark colour to resemble a gallery. The foundation work of the museum building and the cafeĚ building, with its high demands for precision, is some of the most demanding work carried out in Norway.
The parking facility has been masoned with natural stone from Hardanger. The stones were transported from Jondal to Sauda. The visible corner of the wall is approximately 18 metres tall and has been firmly fixed three metres to the riverbed.
Materials all the buildings were prefabricated in Saudasjoen and then assembled in Allmannajuvet. The exterior support system consists of creosote impregnated laminated wood. The exterior walls of the building consist of 18 mm plywood sheets and jute burlap, coated with a German acrylic material.

Suprematism,
the invention of Russian artist Kazimir Malevich, was one of the earliest and most radical developments in abstract art. Its name derived from Malevich’s belief that Suprematist art would be superior to all the art of the past, and that it would lead to the “supremacy of pure feeling or perception in the pictorial arts.” Heavily influenced by avant-garde poets, and an emerging movement in literary criticism, Malevich derived his interest in flouting the rules of language, in defying reason. He believed that there were only delicate links between words or signs and the objects they denote, and from this he saw the possibilities for a totally abstract art.
Eight Red Rectangles 1915
“To the Suprematist the visual phenomena of the objective world are, in themselves, meaningless; the significant thing is feeling, as such, quite apart from the environment in which it is called forth.”
Black Square (c. 1915)

Zariya - A.R. Rahman An entrancing track created by rahman forms the connecting thread of our design. Very rightly said is the quote “Music heals the SOUL Music opens mind, soul and softens ones senses. Aechitecture too by its sense of space creates magic. Hence by bringing both togeather to a sopciety infected with social evils gives experience of rustication.
I call architecture a frozen music - Johann Walfgnag Goethe
