The center of the campus is occupied by the academic block conceived like a floating square mandala of 160 m by 160 m. The entire building is lifted on pilotis to offer a continuous shaded park below the structures.The program is a combination of flexible spaces like classrooms, seminar rooms and faculty offices and predeterminedspaces like auditorium, library reception and kitchen. Beside the academic square,there are the two student’s complexes made of pavilions in exposed concrete varying in heights and covered with terrace gardens, creating fourcourtyards of differentproportions. The faculty housing is a line of immeubles villas, dear to Le Corbusier, forming the visual boundaryof the campus.All the buildings come together around anetwork of gardens and parks, reintroducing the lost landscape of agricultural fields and vegetable gardens into the university.

housing sh3,4 is one of the first buildings constructed in 100 % precast technology in india. the set up batterymold and casting of walls with many hit and trials was done under the guidence of finish Engineers of Elematic Finland and India.150 rooms with the occupancy of 4 per room was constructed (including finishing) in the record time of 9 months.

c . oncept

of the building was to maintain the sky line of other university buildings keeping g+5 ,(21 meters) height. layout of the building is done in a way so that adaptabilty of modular can be achieved with maximum capacity in limited timing.layout is the mirror image of one half having a long courtyard in between.

In

the team of three I have worked from concept to the completion of the project. Have got the opertunity to interact with Elematic Engineers, Jindal Reality pvt ltd.as well as MEP consultants through out the project.in the process have understood the nitty gritty of site services and dealt with the phe and permit, working Drawings as well

housing sh2 is the second building constructed in 100 % precast technology in opjgu campus. This building was done in precast using 200 mm holow core slabs for the longer span.the walls on which slabs were resting were 175 mm thk instead of 150 mm.

Sh2 is also a g+5 ,(21 meters) heigh linear type building.

layout was done considering less number of walls for erection and bigger span using holocore slabs.this hostel was an inward building having 3.6 m wide corridor and 3.55 x1.8 m cutouts for light and vantilation. In a team of four have worked as a project Achitect. and handled the project from the concept to completion of the project. I was awarded the responsibility to design and deliver the project.Responsibilities included were project presenations and intercation with client, structure engineer and mep consultants,working drawings,interior,site cordination and approval of permission drawings etc

housing sh 5,6,7 is one of the sorted buildings in terms of the construction quality and well routed services also. Sh 5,,6 is the twin sharing typical hotel room layout. with attached toilets at the entry and the rooms thereafter. after 3 years of experience the concrete quality of precast panels were far better than other buildings and there was less margin of the mistake in casting from the yard. services require precise cut outs for plumbing ,hvac and electrical.with almost a nill margin of faults. project was kind of another feather in the cap of the team. improved cordinated services and how to improve the quality of construction was the learning factor through out the project. cordinating structure mep and interior finishing with site engineers was the intergral part of the precast construction process.

The

complex is planned as a playful singly loaded corridor with alternate built and unbuilt areas. This arrangement allows for a zig zag arrangement of spaces, allowing thepre-primary students to spill out from their study areas into grassy lawns, sandpits, pools and play areas. Because of the shortage of time, the building is designed using Pre-Engineered Building systems. The structure is built using steel sections and the partition walls are built in LGSF (light gauge steel framing) and cement board panels allowing for fast installation on site

Timeline of four months in hand made us to expolre possible technologies to complete the project.it was kind of crsh course to design in peb technology and to understand the nitty gritty of the project and complete the project in specific timeline. in the team of four we got the oppertunity to do architectural design in cordination with peb structural system.challenge was to convert pure structural building in to a play full functional school.
