With its glittering coastline and olive groves it’s no surprise that seafood, olive oil and olives all feature heavily in Greek cuisine, as well as tomatoes and aubergines. Dishes can be simple – dips such as taramasalata or tzatziki, for example, or the Greek salad – or more involved, using filo pastry. And grilled skewered meat, known as souvlaki, is a popular classic.
