YOUR GUIDE TO NEW ORLEANS, USA

LOCATED ALONG THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER IN SOUTHEASTERN LOUISIANA, New Orleans is world-renowned for its live music scene, Creole cuisine, unique dialect and its endless lineup of celebrations and festivals, most notably Mardi Gras. The historic heart of the city is the French Quarter, which is famous for its French and Spanish Creole architecture and vibrant nightlife along Bourbon Street.

TOP THINGS TO SEE & DO

WATCH THE NEW ORLEANS SAINTS: Head to the team’s home field, Mercedes-Benz Superdome, to watch them compete in the National Football League (NFL). Keep your eye out for Gumbo the Dog and Sir Saint, the team’s official mascots.

SEE A LIVE JAZZ SHOW: Jazz wasn’t just born in New Orleans — it grew up there. Every night of the week, the streets and clubs of the Big Easy come to life with music. It’s an experience like no other.

SAMPLE THE CUISINE: Gumbo (meat and/or shellfish and vegetable stew). Bread pudding with whiskey sauce. Jambalaya (rice and meat cooked with vegetables and Creole spices). Nutty praline. Beignet (pastry made with deep-fried choux dough, sprinkled with powdered sugar). You might even like to sign up for a cooking class.

THE NATIONAL WWII MUSEUM: Aircraft, tanks and a ”Higgins boat” are on display, as are countless other artefacts. In 2017, it was ranked by TripAdvisor as the second-best museum in the world.
