METAL STORY Alexander Rose announced itself to the metal furniture market with the outstanding Portofino collection in 2012, made of wire mesh combined with tubular steel. Our objective was to design eye-catching pieces of furniture that would bring a refreshing look to a new market for Alexander Rose. We found our inspiration in the curvaceous lines and ergonomic comfort of our woven Ocean Range and the Portofino range was born. For 2020 we have added a 6 seater folding dining set, and an attractive lounge set, and a folding sling recliner. Introduced in 2019, the stunning Cordial Lounge collection. This cleverly combines aluminium frames with marine-grade rope, creating a visually breathtaking set of furniture that is equally at home in the garden or indoors. For 2020 we have added a wide rope version of the lounge set and our unique surf sunbed. The Beach Lounge was designed by UK based designer Carsten Astheimer. It consists of four main modules; single chairs, corner chairs, side tables and coffee tables. The modules of the Beach Lounge can be connected together to create almost limitless design possibilities. This allows you to create your own layout to maximise comfort, utilise space and show your individual style. Fresh, exciting cushion colours and contrasting frames add to the vibrancy of the range. The natural evolution from the Beach Lounge is this season’s new Fresco range, an exciting collection of dining and poolside furniture. Designed to give the maximum opportunity to personalise your furniture, the range comes in an array of striking options across metal, wood, fabric and man-made materials.

The Fresco is crafted from handmade aluminium frames coated in a premium quality powder to protect against the elements. Combining outstanding design with the very best in modern materials, the Fresco offers a myriad of options to ensure the perfect fit for any outdoor space. Chairs are available in solid or sling varieties, and the stackable armchairs come with premium Roble arm rests as standard. Frame choices are available in bold flint or cool shell colours, and table tops come in your choice of premium Roble, a slatted aluminium or durable HPL in sand or grey pebble colours to match the frames. Our Fresco range comes with a reassuring 5 year warranty on the frames and table tops, and a 3 year warranty on the slings.

Cordial is crafted from tubular frames which are handmade in powder coated aluminium. Side and coffee table options come in matching spoke frames with a choice of tops in Roble or durable HPL in attractive sand or grey pebble colours. Cordial dining has a choice of tables to seat 2, 4, 6 or 8 people comfortably, with the frames in either grey or beige. Table top options are offered in either our beautiful Roble wood or in durable HPL, with pebble or sand colouring to match the frames. Cushions come in a choice of 3 colours (Anthracite, Oatmeal or Charcoal) and are 100% waterproof. Cordial cushions come with a 2 year warranty.

The Beach Lounge is the result of a collaboration between Alexander Rose and UK based designer, Carsten Astheimer. The unique difference of this collection is the ultra-comfortable, water proof cushions and the way in which they attach to the perforated mesh frames, using toggles to create a crafted feel. Comfort, versatility and functionality combine to make the Beach Lounge perfect for modern outdoor living. Beach Lounge cushions come with a 2 year warranty, and are fully waterproof. The cushions are available in five different colours (Jade, Ochre, Blue, Grey or Taupe) and can be cleaned if required with warm soapy water and a micro-fibre cloth.

Our New England furniture consists of four white benches to brighten up any garden or patio area. Manufactured using our Acacia timber coated in a rich satin polyurethane paint, the furniture has been beautifully transformed making it fresh, clean and suitable for any environment. Our New England is FSC ® 100% certified. Our Old England furniture consists of three distinctive dining sets as well as a lounge set two in a brushed grey finish with matching benches and one in a brushed grey finish with woven bucket chairs. The furniture is finished in a durable polyurethane paint. The look and feel of our Old England furniture is designed for it to be left to age naturally, however should you wish to treat your furniture this can be done by lightly sanding it down periodically and re-applying a coat of satin paint. TIMBER MAINTENANCE

TIMBER MAINTENANCE Weathering occurs over a period of time, and you can expect to see changes in the timber after a few weeks. Timber is a natural material, it absorbs moisture in wet conditions and is likely to expand. In dry conditions the timber dries and may shrink a small amount. As the material moves, surface cracks will appear in the timber. You can maintain the appearance of your furniture by lightly sanding down the timber and applying one of our specially formulated care products.

PAINTED ACACIA MAINTENANCE The white Painted Acacia furniture is produced by applying a polyurethane paint to the Acacia timber. After time there may be hairline cracks in the finish, due to the timber moving. Expansion and contraction of timber is normal and is caused by climatic variation, this is more noticeable around the joints. New England benches are designed to be used outside, we recommend regular maintenance to retain their original condition. This can be done by sanding the affected area down to the natural timber, then evenly re-applying a white satin polyurethane paint to the area. Polyurethane paint can be purchased from any DIY or Hardware store. If you are unsure about what paint to use please contact Alexander Rose.

WOVEN STORY Alexander Rose commenced production of woven furniture in 2006 and started our presence in a new and expanding market with products meeting the customer desire for low maintenance, high quality outdoor furniture. It was immediately evident from customer response that we had much to offer the market with our unique designs and high quality weaving. In 2007 we invested in our own purpose built factory on the island of Cebu in the Philippines, in order to directly manage the production and delivery of our own quality furniture. Since that time, the demand for weave furniture has increased considerably and we moved to a larger factory to accommodate the greater demand. Our in-house aluminium framing department skilfully fabricate and weld the intricate carcasses that are then powder coated in colours to match the Rose Fibre before weaving commences. At our factory we implement best practice environmental policies; the synthetic weave and aluminium raw materials are 100% recyclable, and all wastage is reused to make small components on many of our products. Our Monte Carlo furniture is manufactured at our factory in Cebu, by highly skilled in-house weavers. The 3mm textured synthetic rattan gives a natural feel and the charcoal grey cushions complement the mid grey weave. Monte Carlo cushions are made using charcoal olefin fabric and come with a 2 year warranty, cushions can also be ordered in oatmeal and pearl.

MAINTENANCE

WEAVE MAINTENANCE We recommend that woven furniture is cleaned at least once a year. It is important to use a non-foaming cleaner on woven furniture, as a foaming product will leave residues in the gaps in between the weave which will then attract dirt. A pressure hose on a wide spray setting is acceptable to use on woven chairs at a distance of approximately one metre from the product. Tables should be cleaned carefully with a sponge and a cleaning agent. Follow the instructions below: • Apply lukewarm water with a soft cloth or sponge. • Brush the furniture clean with a soft scrubbing pad. • Rinse furniture well with clean water. Scratch marks or abrasion to the edges of the fibre can be repaired by very briefly and carefully applying heat (i.e. a hair dryer) to the affected area and rubbing along the length of the fibre with a piece of hard cardboard to restore a smooth edge. To clean the table top glass we suggest the use of any household glass or window cleaner.
