Summer Family Camp A Great Christmas Present

June 2 - 8: Join other VBC families for a great week together at our summer family camp held in the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin at Silver Birch Ranch for our VBC Family Camp. Family camp offers extended time to build relationships, create shared memories, relax and enjoy fellowship with others in your immediate family and your extended church family. Often more happens relationally during a week of family camp than in a whole year back home. This is a really fun week for ages 0 through 100. It is also economical. Water Skiing & Tubing. Fishing. Playing at the beach. Sailboarding. Swimming. Kayaking. Horseback Riding. Archery. Riflery. Crafts. White Water Rafting. Hay Rides. Reading a book on the beach. Canoeing. Campfires. Baseball. MiniGolf. Woodshop. Climbing walls‌ Sounds like a great time, doesn’t it? These are some of the things that families can do all week long (and for no additional charge!) at Family Camp next summer. For more information and registration details, go to www.villagebible.org/familycamp. Register by calling the church office (630-466-7198) or by emailing (family@villagebible.org) prior to January 12 to guarantee your space!

Suggested Christmas Reading A Marriage Carol

Authors Gary Chapman and Chris Fabry come together to give us a heartwarming Christmas story in A Marriage Carol. It is the story of a couple, Marlee and Jacob, who, after 20 years of marriage are about to throw in the towel and end it. But things take an interesting turn on a snowy Christmas Eve when they find themselves stuck in a snowdrift. Marlee wakes after the accident to find Jacob missing. She makes her way to the nearest house and finds herself in a marriage retreat center. There she comes face to face with the reality of her marriage having two options for the future. Which will she choose?

Listen to the Silent Night

We often think of that very first Christmas night when Jesus was born from the perspective of the carol Silent Night….”all is calm, all is bright…”. But in this children’s book, Listen to the Silent Night, author Dandi Daley Mackall reminds us that the night of Jesus’ birth was full of all kinds of sounds. Each sound really brings the story of that miraculous night to life.

Three Christmas stories from Max Lucado An Angel's Story - Journey back in time to the very throne of God . . . and witness firsthand the glory, the wonder, and the battle that took place on the very first Christmas from heaven's perspective. The Christmas Candle - In a small village in the Cotswolds, nothing out of the ordinary ever happens. Except at Christmastime. But when a mysterious angel suddenly appears in a lowly candlemaker's shop, the holy and the human collide in a way that forever changes the village. The Christmas Child - A Chicago journalist finds himself in a deserted Texas town on Christmas Eve. Lonely and alone, he encounters old faces and new facts . . . a hand carved manger, a father's guilt, a young girl's faith. The trip into the past holds his key to the future and a scarlet cross shows him the way home.
