FAIRHAVEN Winterfest

November 18 - December 18, 2022

The Annual Historic Fairhaven Winterfest begins the weekend before Thanksgiving with continuing fun and activities through the holiday season. There is always something magical happening–don't miss out!

Friday, November 18, 4:30pm-7:30pm Holiday Art Walk & Winterfest Kick-Off Celebration/Silent Auction

The traditional Holiday Art Walk kicks off the Winterfest season as merchants showcase the talents of local artists. Come listen to melodic recorder music by local group Ruach at Village Books, then be sure to stop by the Fairhaven Association HUB at 1106 Harris Ave. and enjoy refreshments and entertaiment while bidding on items as part of a fundraising silent auction. Saturday, November 26, 11am-4pm Holiday Market & Tree Lighting

Discover unique local arts and crafts at the annual outdoor Holiday Market behind Village Books. Local vendors and community non-profits will be on hand, offering holiday gifts and treats. Stick around for the tree lighting celebration across from the Fairhaven Village Green at 5pm! Stay for some improptu caroling and a festive "We wish you a Merry Christmas." A family-friendly day everyone will enjoy.

Saturdays, November 26 - December 17, 12pm-3pm Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides & Visits with Father Christmas

A timeless magical holiday tradition, you can enjoy Saturday carriage rides through the streets of Fairhaven–leaving from outside the Fairhaven Village Inn. Visit with Father Christmas while you're there!

Fridays, December 2 (ELF) and December 9 (The Polar Express) at 6:30pm Enjoy Holiday Movies at the Firehouse Arts & Events Center

Saturday, December 3, 5pm-8pm Fairhaven Firelight Stroll

The Fairhaven Firelight Stroll has become a favorite holiday happening! You can grab a hot cocoa or spiced cider at the entry tent and stroll the wooded path lined with luminaria. Start at 8th & Harris and enjoy a half mile of holiday magic before joining the after party at Stones Throw Brewery. While you're out and about, check out the Bellingham Yacht Club Lighted Boat Parade will on Bellingham Bay starting at 5pm.

MORE FAIRHAVEN Saturday, WinterfestDecember 10, 5:30p Fairhaven Lighted Bike Parade

Participants meet at 5pm at Hillcrest Church parking lot (14th Street and Larrabee Ave). Show up with your decked out bike and helmet At 5:30pm, we'll head out. Those who want a casual, easy ride, can circle Fairhaven Village a few times. Those feeling more adventurous can head downtown by way of the South Bay Trail. At the same time a group from downtown will be heading to Fairhaven. Riders on both ends will be greeted with hot chocolate, cider and holiday treats. Not up for the ride? Just come out and enjoy the parade—it's a lot of fun!

NEW! Sunday, December 11, 2pm-4:40pm Holiday Costume Pet Prance and Santa Paws

Gather at Hillcrest Church (Larrabee St.) with your pets in their best holiday costumes (owners encouraged to dress up as well)! We will prance through the Village and end at Paws for a Beer where there will be a photo opportunity. Pets must be socialized and comfortable around large groups. Saturday, December 17, 2:30pm-5pm FA LA LA Caroling Contest

Whether you put together a group to compete (registration required) or just attend to listen to your favorite carols, Fairhaven’s annual Caroling Competition is back in 2022!

Letters to Santa - November 26 through December 17 Children can leave letters for Father Christmas in the classic Victorian mailbox located on the Village Green. One of his elves may even get back to you if you leave a legible name and return address!

Enter the Fairhaven Winterfest Last Call for Writers! All Ages “Tales of the Season” Writing Contest

The Fairhaven Association's Winterfest seeks 300-500 word non-fiction stories of your favorite 'SNOW DAY' memory. Selected stories will be featured in two live readings in December and printed posters of the works will hang in the windows of local businesses during Winterfest. Once you have registered you will receive submission instructions.

Submissions are Due November 11, 2022
