"We are fashionforward thinkers but still work with our clients to create the wardrobe that they need"

"I was a singing coach with Australian Idol for all seven seasons then did two seasons on The X Factor"

“I understand what it’s like to be a bigger woman shopping for clothes and only being able to find older and boring styles. At Taking Shape, we’re passionate about making women feel great by giving them clothes that are designed for their curves to make them feel confident,” she says. “This Spring, and any season really, layering is key. By incorporating lighter layers of clothing, colour and textures, you can be strategic and attract the eye to certain areas, disguising problem areas and highlighting a person’s greatest assets. And don’t shy away from colour. I always say, as you get older, you should get bolder!”

With Erana Clark from Taking Shape After enjoying a whirlwind career in the entertainment industry, travelling across the world as a singer and talent coach, Erana Clark is finally realising a childhood dream of working in the fashion industry in her new role as manager at Taking Shape. “I was a singer when I was younger and quickly got into TV singing on shows like Mornings with Kerri-Anne and The Ray Martin Show. I was constantly travelling from Asia to the United States and back to Australia, and as a mother it was getting really exhausting. It was when I was developing an artist in Singapore that I got a call from the producers of Australian Idol –which was then a new show coming to TV – offering me

a job as vocal director and I felt my prayers had been answered. I was so happy to return home.” “I was with Australian Idol for all seven seasons then did two seasons on The X Factor. The entertainment industry is really full-on and tiresome so I eventually decided to retire and explore other pursuits. I’ve always loved clothes and fashion, and it was a part of the entertainment industry that always excited me so it was natural to begin working in the industry.” Having discovered Taking Shape as a customer, it’s the brand’s ability to design stylish and flattering clothes for curvy women that Erana loves so much about working there now.

With James Yahl from Savills St Ives Born and bred in the St Ives area, it’s safe to say that real estate agent James Yahl is an expert on the local market. “I’ve been in the real estate industry for almost 10 years now having spent my career with the team at Savills. As the manager of the St Ives agency, my main role is being an advocate for my clients in listing and selling their properties while helping lead my team to success,” shares James. “I love getting out and working with our clients. No two days are ever the same and that’s what’s so great about real estate.”

"We're seeing a huge increase in the numbers through open homes and a lot more activity in the market"

“We were previously in a buyers’ market; however, this Spring there’s a swing back in favour of vendors now the election is over and interest rates have been cut. We’re seeing a huge increase in the numbers through open homes, a lot more activity in the market and more positive results for sellers,” says James. “When selling this Spring, first impressions count. Make sure your home is neat and tidy and you’re showing off all its best features.”

With Tanya Prischl from Elan Jewellers Having worked in the centre for three-and-a-half years, Tanya Prischl is taking on a new adventure alongside her husband and brother in-law in opening Elan Jewellers. “My husband and I are both jewellers and my brother in-law does the design work. I’d been creating and wholesaling a line of kids’ jewellery but we’d wanted our own store for a long time,” says Tanya. “One of our biggest services is remodelling and repairing jewellery as well as making custom pieces for our clients. We also have a beautiful range available in store that’s made with the highest quality materials including gold, silver, diamonds and semi-precious stones. We source our materials from all over the world as we’re always searching for the best and most unique stones.”

There’s no better time than Spring to hit refresh on your menu and get a healthy dose of greens on your plate from your favourite healthy outlets at The Village. WITH ETHAN JU FROM CAFÉ MIL L IGRAM

It’s hard to know what to order when presented with a menu as good as Café Milligram’s but it’s the food philosophy and dedication to sustainable eating that is even more impressive. “Milligram food is about providing ultimate sustenance for the human body,” says owner, Ethan. Preservatives and food additives can have harmful effects on the body so we only use whole foods and organic, seasonal ingredients to ensure

fresher and more nutritional options for our loyal customers. Our breakfast and lunch menus both contain 100% natural and organic ingredients, and green produce makes up a huge part of our holistic approach. We want to make sure we’re able to improve our customers’ wellbeing and aid their healthy lifestyles by providing food that is truly nourishing for both the body, and the tastebuds.”
