Looking after you in 2021 If there is one thing 2020 highlighted it’s that we shouldn’t take our health and wellbeing for granted. As it’s the New Year we thought we would share some of our top healthy tips with you as we have over 10 years’ experience in the health and fitness sector; Move – your body is designed to move and living a sedentary life where you move from the car to the desk to the sofa will lead to movement limitations in the future. Find something you enjoy, it could be the gym / classes / yoga / dancing / running / walking – if you enjoy it you will do it. Drink – your body is over 80% water, it is important that you drink water to keep you topped up as a 1% reduction in hydration leads to a 10% reduction in performance. Carry a bottle with you and have it where you can see it to keep it in the front of your mind. Food – however you decide to eat, limit processed foods which have additives and make sure you ‘eat the rainbow’ so you get the nutrients your body requires. We all know what we should and shouldn’t have, its about balance, remember putting the wrong fuel in your car is expensive, the same applies to your body. Laughter – it’s one of the most underestimated medicines we have, it reduces stress hormones / increases endorphins / diffuses anger - why not make laughing more a New Year Resolution.
