Not everyone will remember what our Community Centre looked like before, so here are the then and now pictures. I’m sure you will agree that the building not only looks a whole lot smarter, it’s a whole lot more userfriendly too. The team piled a great deal of energy into this transformation to ensure the building, not only served the community well, but served it sustainably too. The Eco Hub has proved to have met its objectives and purpose. From the initial money raising to the solar power, ground source heat pumps, rainwater harvesting, recycling, etc., that all work seamlessly together to make the Eco Hub one of the most sustainable community buildings in the country. Since its opening in 2012 a whole lot of passion has gone into making it the warm, friendly and activity filled building it is today. Trustees, volunteers and staff all work behind the scenes to ensure the continued success of the Eco Hub so, if you haven’t been before, why not drop in and take a look around, attend one of the many classes or clubs, use the library or stop by for a coffee at the very popular Connect Café every Friday between 10.30am and 12.30pm. Look out for all the amazing things happening in and around the HUB in June we have the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and our Tenth Anniversary to celebrate on Saturday, 4th June with a huge screen, bands, DJ’s and food and drinks village.
