STORY TIME IN THE NATURE NOOK

Join a naturalist from the Bensenville Park District for read-along stories, songs and more during this fun program for nature-lovers ages 2-5. The resident fee is just $10 for each three week session. Times and days vary. Check the Winter-Spring Program Guide for details.

ACTING CLASSES: INTRO TO ACTING AND ACTING 101

Children will love the fun and creative atmosphere in the introduction to performing arts class that allows children to gain confidence as they learn voice projection, improvisation, emotion, character development and scene work. Then, they can continue to develop their imaginations and acting techniques through scene work, monologues and improv games in Acting 101. Classes run Jan. 24-March 14 and April 4-May 23. $55 resident fee.

DANCE CLASSES

Dance classes range from beginner classes such as Dance with Me, Fairy Princess Dance, Hippity Hop and PreBallet to Level I and II classes that include the new Jazz/Lyrical Combos, Musical Theater I, Ballet and Hip Hop. There is also a new Adult Ballet class for those 18 and older. Classes begin in January with a dance recital Friday, May 5. Resident fees are $120.

MUSIC CLASSES: GUITAR AND PIANO LESSONS

Learn to play guitar or piano at the Bensenville Park District! Guitar lessons take place 5-6 p.m. Mondays from January 16 to February 20 and March 6 through April 17. The cost for residents is $55 for each five-week session. Each 30-minute individualized piano lesson takes place Tuesdays between the hours of 3-8 p.m. and costs $35 per class.

ART CLASSES

The park district is offering three new art classes this spring—Beginning Sculpting, Loving Art and Luck of the Artist—in addition to Beginning Painting and Painting & Pencils Workshops, which begin in mid-January. All classes are held in the Art Room, and resident fees for each program range from $45 to $65 for residents, depending on the length of the program.

DOGS AT DUSK

Learn to speak dog, learn dog safety, assessment, teaching and handling plus how to use different equipment with dogs in structured, focused activities in this three-part program that runs January through April. Additionally, there’s a Dog Days Spring Break Camp March 27-29 as well as Dog Day Sundays February 26 and March 5.

SWEETHEART BALL

SATURDAY | FEBRUARY 4 | 6-8 PM | WHITE PINES GOLF CLUB Make some sweet memories at the annual Sweetheart Ball. This year’s candy-themed ball includes a delicious dinner, dancing, entertainment, and a decadent sweets table. Register at the Deer Grove Leisure Center by Monday, January 30. Registration fee is $25 per person (R) | $30 (NR).

SENIOR PROM

SUNDAY | FEBRUARY 5 | 3-6 PM |WHITE PINES GOLF CLUB The Young-at-Heart crowd is invited to relive their high school glory days at White Pines Golf Club’s special senior dance Sunday afternoon, February 5. The registration fee is $15 per person and includes a chicken dinner, dancing and assorted sweets. A cash bar is also available. Register now at the Deer Grove Leisure Center.

NEW! BENSENVILLE FAMILY DAY WITH THE CHICAGO WOLVES

WOLVES VS. MOOSE | SUNDAY | MARCH 19 | 2-7 PM The 2022 Calder Cup Champion Chicago Wolves and the Bensenville Park District invite you to Bensenville Family Day 3 p.m. Sunday, March 19, as the Wolves take on the Manitoba Moose at Allstate Arena. Ticket packages start at $27 and include a game ticket, hot dog and soda, and a Wolves knit hat. For every ticket sold at BvilleParks.org/Wolves, at least $4.50 will be donated to the Bensenville Youth Coalition to support their work in the community.

SUMMER CAMP REGISTRATION NOW OPEN

Park District summer camps have something for everyone, including adventure camps, discovery camps, sports camps, and teen leadership camps—each emphasizing safe play, well-being, community activity, and learning and promoting development, teamwork and fun!
