@FentonHS
The Board of Education at Fenton Community High School District 100 voted on Wednesday, March 16th to proceed with a referendum seeking voter approval to modernize and expand Fenton High School. A $129.7 million community-driven plan will address critical deficiencies in our 1950s school building and the surrounding campus, plus allow us to transform our educational programs to better compete with others in DuPage County. Approval to begin this plan will appear on our ballots as a referendum in the June 28 primary election. Proceeds from the referendum can only be used for building improvements. Investing in schools adds value to a community. We are witnessing incredible community development all around us, but Fenton itself has not received comprehensive enhancements since taxpayers approved the last referendum in 1975. A successful referendum in June would allow us to keep pace, and secure our learning spaces. Our kids deserve safe facilities capable of 21st Century Learning. They’ll have more opportunities to follow their passion, graduating healthier, more well-rounded, and ready for high-wage careers. We appreciate the work all our current and former school board members, administrators, and staff have put forth in leading us to this point. Today we look forward to working hand-in-hand with our community members to transform Fenton and lead our students to new opportunities for success. We collaborated with many in our community these past six months to understand their priorities in this mission. Fenton will provide many more opportunities for you to visit, review our plan, and ask questions leading up to the election on June 28.
