Ooh la la – it’s petanque!
Eye Petanque Club is looking for new members to join this summer. Petanque, or French boules, is great fun for people of all ages and abilities and is a wonderful way to learn a new sport and have some fun at the same time. Club Secretary Jackie Johnson, says: “Petanque is such an easy game to play and very sociable. We play at the Community Centre in Eye on Wednesday and Sunday mornings and everyone is welcome. There is the chance to enter local leagues and competitions, and we offer free loan of boules and one-to-one coaching, as well as help choosing equipment if people want to play regularly. “It’s very cheap to play – a set of three boules is really the only investment needed, and these will last you a lifetime!”
