THE INTERNET GIRL
She's at her computer and surfing the net Straight from the shower, her hair is still wet The first thing she then does without fail Is reading last night’s incoming mail
She’s oh so excited this very minute Checking her mailbox and see what’s in it Clicking on Chat Rooms, Twitter and Tweet To see how many friends she can meet
On Facebook there are a hundred and five All giving details about their happy life Her name, sadly, never seems to appear Why she lists them as friends isn’t quite clear
And then almost each Saturday night She’s looking for love on a free dating site Searching there for the man of her dreams Who does not exist, or so it seems
She’s texting a pop star daily on Twitter He never reacts and that makes her feel bitter She has a desktop, tablet and mobile phone And can’t understand why she is so alone
The world all around her is so cold and black But all she needs is her old happy life back.
