Dear Friends, I am pleased to bring you the Real Estate Market Report for March, keeping you in the know and up to date on the latest activity and trends in the communities we serve in South Santa Barbara County, Santa Ynez Valley, and beyond. Homes sales for the first quarter of 2019 are off to a strong start, 21% above last year. The inventory of homes available remains steady. Interest rates for 15 and 30 year fixed rates are staying low, between 3.75% and 4.125%, making it easier for buyers to qualify for home purchasing. The median home price in our area is inching up. It is a good time for buyers to take advantage of the slowly rising market. This month Village Properties celebrated the opening of our fifth office in the beautiful new mixeduse building at 1296 Coast Village Road in Montecito.
