THIS MONTH IN REAL ESTATE As we approach the Summer Solstice in the Santa Ynez Valley, we’re feeling the heat of the summer along with the heat of the real estate market. The SYV real estate market is showing 109 sales year to date through May. In looking at May of this year specifically, the total number of sales is up 38% over sales in May of 2017. Single family home sales seem to be relatively even year over year with 103 in 2017 and 100 this year respectively. The average and median sales prices,


compared to 2017, are both slightly up. The condominium market is up with 9 total sales this year. The average sales price over 2017, and the median are both elevated as well. Overall, the real estate market is looking strong in the Valley as we wrap up the year to date sales numbers.
