buzz: New art at Queens & Chambers

Adjacent to the Queens’ Chambers Boulevard Garden Project at the corner of Queens Avenue and Chambers Street is an assortment of concrete furniture and 4 planters provided by the City of Victoria. After completion of the gardening component of this neighbourhood endeavour, Diane Thompson, a local artist, was selected to paint the furniture with a colourful palate to attract families, kids, and passers by to have a place to rest, jump, and enjoy this newly revitalized area in Fernwood.

With the generous support of The City of Victoria’s My Great Neighbourhood Grant Program, Urban Systems Foundation, Diane Thompson, and Michael Hill, City of Victoria neighbourhood liaison for Fernwood, we were able to create a space for people to gather.

We encourage others to be inspired to create their own neighbourhood space and to drop by our little corner of Fernwood to check it out.
